The jamming trait is to keep it balanced. Would be way overpowered if you could just run around with a tactical knife and location indicator. The jammer allows enemies to be aware that you are near.

How is it pay to win? Just get your butt out there and play to earn it or buy it with the thousands of armory credits you should already have. Besides the STG sights are off alignment again after the patch, just use this rifle to fix that.

+Evan KZbin except that this gun will have the same to worse time to kill than the STG due to 50ms slower sprint-out and 25ms slower ads times. The STG44 kills in 270ms at the 4 shot kill range, this kills in 253ms at the 4 shot kill range, but you need to add 275ms to the stg and 300ms for the Volkssturmgewehr, so if both players are NOT running and ads the ttk for the stg is 545ms and for the Volkssturmgewehr is 553ms -> slightly slower. If both players are sprinting you have to add another 250ms for the stg and 300ms for the Volkssturmgewehr so if both players are sprinting it takes 795ms for the stg and 853ms for the Volkssturmgewehr, again slower, but this time by more.

If you fire this gun in quick bursts it has almost no recoil and you don't lose much on time to kill. Grip and acog and you have a gun that competes with any AR at any range

They made select fire versions of the rifle. This is the second time the "real world stats" you quoted were not necessarily correct that I have responded to. While the majority of the rifles were semi auto, not all were. SHG has been doing this a lot where they seem to be modeling some of the real world variants to base theirs off of.

The jammer should be changed to a portable device that you can pull out and set on the ground to jam nearby enemies, that way its not always on giving away your presence. Press left on d-pad to pull out the jammer, like how the suppressor is applied in airborne division. Someone please tell sledgehammer to rethink the jammer, or get rid of it completely

Many people are talking shit about the jammer in the new division But I think the jammer alert that an enemy is coming and they would just circle around you trying to find you but the main reason is, they know you're position and with the Division's knife and the gun combo with the perk that unlocks after First prestige you can just knife em' while they search for you, yes it's kinda not good but with the fourth perk or ability (Sixth sense) you can able to em it's kinda combos up very well -my opinion

I feel like Sledgehammer is missing a huge opportunity here. They could be releasing specific weapons during specific times of COD WW2's life cycle. Think about it like this: The Volkssturmgewehr was made right at the end of the war, like Ace said. So why not save this weapon until this October right at the end of the game's active season? So many people are crying OP already (which it isn't), and pros are asking to have this gun made available for professional play, which means it will be nerfed. I have a feeling that nerf will come in the way of more recoil and/or idle sway. In truth, this is a *balanced* assault rifle. It isn't a magic wand; it needs proper handling to use consistantly but it is very managable. The STG was my first weapon to get gold camo on, but the Volk is already my new favorite. Add this with the 9mm SAP and its insane 3 shot kill range plus the combat knife for resistance div and you can pretty much call the class OP if you want. If only they'd allow us to toggle the map scrambler effect on/off.

While using this gun, I almost felt bad, it is FANTASTIC, put in to the same role as the STG 44 it does much better, the recoil is easier to control so it seems to shoot flat and the fire rate is better than the STG. All of these depend on the users ability to use their thumbs and know their ranges. After using this for a few hours I of course got the epic version in a supply drop, looks cool with a Iron Cross on the side, just my luck.

I currently can't afford this gun, but picked it up playing the Gustav Cannon map and quickly went on a 8 kill streak, before getting picked off. It's accuracy and fire rate is amazing. I think it's the best gun in the game and hope to get lucky in a supply drop, but will probably only get pistol grips and calling cards. I never received any weapon in the winter episode thru supply drops and I play everyday. I had to earn them.

Hey Ace - I have a question about this game's hit detection =/= to rate of fire. I primarily run with 2 weapons unless I am going for weapon levels or challenges: the PPSH and the Volkssturmgewehr. According to the states on these weapons: the PPSH has a rate of fire of 723 RPM (777 with rapid fire) and the Volks has 715 RPM (760 with rapid fire). By simple math this should equate to an approcimate Rounds Per Second of: 12 (13) and 12 (12) respectively. However, in game, this doesn't feel to be the case. i.e. the Volk. We know it is a 4-6 shot kill depending on range. For the same of argument let's say you're locked on to an enemy at close-medium range, well within the 4 shot range. You're locked on and fire for a full second. Your ammo drops accordingly but you only seem to hit the guy 4-5 times. So what gives? Where did my other 6+ rounds go? The hit detection on this game seems screwy AF. Maybe it's lag compensation or what have you, but other time I'll turn on a guy and fire and my bullets do NO damage whatsoever. Other times I'll get hit, turn and down the guy in a flash. It's frustrating to say the least. I'd be interested in hearing what your thoughts (and others) are on this. Cheers

Love this rifle in HC, best AR in hardcore imo. I can consistently beat out the BAR with this thing which is a nice and welcome change, does well unless your are too up close and personal but overall an excellent rifle and I really hope they don't nerf it, nice to have an alternative to that stupid BAR.

Honestly man I’d say it edges the BAR on core as well. The Bar has a small magazine, so you have to be more accurate with it, and even then you’ll find yourself reloading more frequently, but the Volk has better fire rate than the BAR and a bigger magazine, so there’s no reason to use the Bar over the Volk unless you are on a high ping because the Volk is superior in most situations.
