😊 Hey guys! We created the Chase Car channel to give viewers a broad overview of the upcoming new cars from the top car manufacturers. We are huge fans of pickup trucks of all sizes: compact, mid-size and full-size trucks. So mostly, we will cover new upcoming trucks, but besides that, here you can find a lot of content about new sedans and SUVs too.
The Electric Vehicle wave sooner or later will become huge, so this type of content might appear on this channel from time to time. But as we are still on the way to becoming fully electrical, we mostly cover fossil cars from many amazing brands.

EVs were easy to sell to upper middle class (and above) living in houses or modern apartment buildings with big garages with EV charger in every parking spot. EV is great if you have a home charger and can afford an expensive big battery EV. If you don’t have a home charger and can only afford an entry level EV, then ICE car is way more convenient. ICE car usability also doesn’t scale down with price as much. Cheap ICE car can still travel as far as you want. It’s just less luxurious and has less extra space. We bought our EV when our apartment complex made a decision to build 140 EV chargers to our garage. We drove the EV for two years before the chargers were operational. It was OK, but not as convenient as driving an ICE. Now with home charger, EV is finally better than ICE for us. But most people don’t have possibility for home charger and I can’t blame them for not wanting to buy an EV today. The drop of EV sales simply tells us that upper middle class (and above) have already bought their EV. This market is saturated. Now EVs must become mass market ready. Infrastucture is still lacking in many places to make that possible.

Reliablity or should I say the lack of reliability goes hand in hand with complexity.. Stands to reason the more fail points in a system the more failures you get. Make ICEV's and make them simple, they will be cheeper to produce so prices will be more competitive and cars will again sell. As a mechanic of 39 years what I see coming off the line these days are utter garbage. they're an abomination. Individual parts are made thinner and cheeper than ever before. i drive a 30 year old truck for a reason, simple and cheep to repair' tough and reliable. I actually don't want to be driving a multi media center on wheels. Some of the crap in these cars are actually distracting for the driver and should be outlawed.

@@markseehawer3762their passive safety is pretty tough. The frames n what not. Today’s cars are far tougher than those built 30 years ago. But u r absolutely right though. Coz the important mechanical bits are more complicated than ever, yet cheaply made. If cars built today had the simplicity of cars from 90s, but with passive (NOT active) safety of the 2010s, that would be perfection. Why 90s? Coz that was juuust before the tipping point before everything went overboard with electronics.

@@arsyadidris6349thank for your response I hope you will ready my my response: I hate to break it it you but unibody construction hasn't changed much since the 80's It is still folded sheet metal with ribs in the panals and built in crumple zones. Shock absorbing bumpers with palimar cosmetic bumpers shells that have also been around since the 70's even my 1994 dodge diesel 3/4 ton has anti lock brakes. Yes there are automatic braking systems for when your on your phone or when your looking at your flat screan entertaiment center, and that will save your Arse most of the time. But when you actually crash your car is going to fold up like tin foil. it is actually designed to do that. what will save your arse will be your crumple zones in the front and rear, your air bags which have been around since the late 80's and your seat belt thats been around since the 60's further more collapsable steering coloums have been around since the 60's too. As for active braking and collision avoidance they are not that good at recognizing pedestrians, And as for atonimous driving it has been know to freeze up without warning. I look at it this way if you can't pay attention while driving maybe you shouldn't have a car. As to my first statment complexity goes hand in hand with glitches and out right failures, and is a distraction for the driver. I have always believed that change is not improvment it's just change. I worked in an industrial factory as head of R&D fabrication . one of my jobs was making gaurds for moving parts on machinary. truth is more often than not all a gaurd would do is move a pinch point to a new location. the same is true of automated safety systems. We need to get back to relying on our selves again. All automation does is make us into brain dead lithargic morons that can't function for our selves. All this technology and we humans have never been dumber.

Production of new EV's should be banned! They are totally unsustainable. Too much mining of rare minerals to produce the batteries for only one car. Only 5% of the batteries can be recycled. Not enough power plants/weak power grids to cope with the demand of electricity if all vehicles were electric. A total waste of energy, considering the energy loss from a power plant to a charging station and from the charging station to the chemical battery. Also, the fact that much of the energy used in an EV, around 30%, is used to transport its own heavy batteries. Danger of explosive fires with very high temperatures, and the list goes on and on. So the only thing Tesla is eating these days is CROW. Looks good on them too, with any luck they will go broke too. You litteraly could not give me a Tesla. the Used Tesla market is down too You would be hard pressed to sell a used Tesla, It would be like buying a half eaten sandwich. What a bad investment.

@@markseehawer3762the only thing i would take from a tesla is their battery tbh… for free ofcourse. Put it in a seperate shed, install a few solar panels on my roof, n ill be somewhat off the grid. I get the panels would be massive investment, which is why the batteries have to be free😂😂😂

@@markseehawer3762 I understand that you are scared of tesla which doesn’t need your knowledge of fixing cars but it’s just how it works dinosaur cars are dying like the steam engines because there is something much better and cheaper than them and that’s called TESLA .you or me have no saying in it game is over.

I for one WANT an EV, but a TESLA EV! The other's are too prone to issues with no repair services available. Just waiting for TESLAs to become about HALF of their current prices - It's coming guys... and it will obliterate many automakers that aren't prepared IMHO.

May I ask you what VW EVs offer??? They look ugly, bad software, bad efficiency, bad reliability. Tesla Y is also ugly, but at least it makes for it in all other areas. And now something like Xiaomi SU7 is better and more desirable car in almost any aspect... It's not even about the price anymore, VW EVs are just inferior to their competition. What are they thinking in their meetings before launching these models???

I didn't need a sciemce degree and whatever degree is needed to predict the market to say EVs were a technology for the far future and PHEVs and HEVs were the close and mid term path to a permanent electric solution when the battery technology and charging infrastructure are actually advanced and cheap enough to become mainstream. If i was in the market for an EV, BMW would be one of my choices but with the BYD Seal being released with what it offers that would have been my actualy choice. Legacy carmakers are too slow and too greedy to be able to compete with China. China high production volume with low margins while legacy carmakers and every other western brand are still caught up in their low production volume with margin mistake, even BMW will be caught up when they have satisfied the close term needs of the market. Tesla is eventually going to be taken over by the Chinese unless the government runs something to block them from acquiring the name, the tech is old so that isn't what they are after anyway.

That's what happens when governments think they know better and set targets for EVs,they should never have tried to force them on the companies or the citizens,it should always have been optional and EVs should be able to stand on their own feet without tax payers subsidised sweeteners,I've no beef with them but think alternative fuels should have had much more investment, these can cut emissions vastly and keep ICE cars on the road saying having to replace them with EVs,no brainer then imho but what do I know I'm just a driver.
