@@FrunkensteinVonZipperneck I have better news for ev lovers,second geely's ev based on it's new ultra efficient platform called GEA will becalled geely xingyuan. it will have 40 kwh aegis battery pack which has 3600 cycle life(88% of remaining capacity) and it will weigh 1285 kg din which is truely fascinating. it's direct competitor in term of pricing and dimensions is BYD dolphin which has 60 kwh battery pack and weighs 1660 kg kerb. most amazing thing about this new geely platfrom is it's ultra light weight platform structure meaning with 40 kwh battery it has similar range to a 60 kwh byd dolphin which is truely amazing meaning both evs will have around 420 km of combined range. It is because xingyuan weighs almost 400 kg less than BYD dolphin. very very well done geely i assume geely will surpass BYD and tesla within 4 or 5 years indeed.

There could be a possibility. If China sends the car with one tiny piece missing that it ships separately and which then gets attached in Australia. This way the price can be kept very low...and it can be sold as a car made in Australia.

@@thyristo australia has no car industry anymore, not competitive to build here due to high wages and low market capacity to warrant domestic production so this isn't a tariff/tax thing manfacturers charge aussies more because aussies are among the richest in the world and can afford to pay high prices there is a LOT of fat/profit to cut in australia prices and you can see that as the EV market heats up and the price declines are much higher here than other places they could reduce the price significantly, but that is only going to happen because a competitor is offering a better deal cheapest EV here is 35k (mg ZS) so realistically they were to sell the car tomorrow the cheapest we'd likely see it is around $34k

But anyway that red car has got to be the ugliest car made. well there are others in this style as well. Why do EVs have front ends that look like they are ICE vehicles with the radiator opening filled in. Has nobody got any design flair now that the radiator has gone or is the overpowering paradigm have the same body shell parts usable on evs, hybrids, and gas guzzlers.

who knows ? Ford makes a dam good electric truck right out of the gate. Chevy the same thing. What Australian company makes trucks you Australians can drive around the outback ? ah mate ? Other countries other than China will be fine with EV's if they stop thinking so short term. I watched a show about battery technology and research today and the scientist pointed out that maybe 3 percent of research has be done on using Sodium in batteries . She also pointed out that America has a HUGE amount of Sodium .. WAY MORE exponentially than other countries . So, America and American car manufacturers will be fine IF we take a longer range approach to this electricity based future we are building . And it does not help for shows like this to be so China oriented and gloom and doom about it
