I just stumbled upon an Eos for sale. I’m very tempted to buy it. It seems like great value for money. I just love the retractable roof, and how odd it works. Also mad respect to vw for putting a friggin sunroof in the retractable roof. Also, I’m a bit of a petrolhead, so with it being with the common 2,0tfsi combined with the lovely DSG just makes me drool! Thx for the review!

So did you buy it?

I have the two litre diesel eos and I’d say go for it! Best car I’ve ever owned n no faults. Petrol 2 litre sounds amazing to drive but I do a lot of motorway driving and a convertible with more technology than I could ever use and gets 54 to the gallon is just insane

@@thomasstubbs1192is it hard to maintain? I found one that I’m dying to buy but don’t want to make an expensive mistake. It’s gas

@@HowdayhayIdk I’ve been having mine for a little, no problems yet mines the 2009 Eos lux version with still under 100k mls in it. Perfect condition😁

I have a 2012 2.0 DSG turbodiesel version: I absolutely love it. 50+ mpg, 135mph, full leather and all the toys - the 6 speed DSG gearbox makes it quiet, fast and efficient. Grab one while they are still findable in good nick…….

We found a 2014 Eos Sport with 9,674 original miles on it in February on 2023. It had set for sometime and needed tires, brake rotors, fuel system and brake system flushes, spark plugs and the like. I now have 37,000 plus miles on the car. It is my everyday drive, covering approximately 100 miles a day, 5 days a week. I love how it handles, not quite as nimble as my Beetles, but a blast to drive. I would suggest that the prescribed maintenance schedules be followed as closely as possible, as is done by me. I'm hoping that I don't have to replace this car anytime soon. And as I said, I love it.

Just bought a 2012 1.4 TSi 160bhp, 1 owner 58,000 miles with Full History, Full Leather, heated seats, honestly the car is like new and so quiet and refined, and all for just under £7,000 ......

I've owned my 2.0l sport for 16 years and won't sell it. It is the MK1 version and is a far more elegant design than the bodged corporate makeover that the MK2 was forced to have. Not without it's issues but is a far better choice than the ubiquitous 3 series. And so much more fun.

‘Boded corporate makeover’? Really? Should have gone to Specsavers,

Bring a bag of money, it's a German car so when it breaks it'll also break the bank!

Actually I started looking at the parts and they aren’t expensive
@austinforbes42595 ай бұрын
It definitely costs more than your average economy car but it doesn't cost as much as a bmw or a Mercedes. It's not unreasonable

Probably the least appealing of cc's. Can cop a Peugeot for a half to a third the price and not worry so much about reliability, maintenance and expensive repairs. The volvo is also very desirable
@Broomehall5 күн бұрын
Peugeot over a VW ? no thanks ... and as for the Volvo, old persons cabriolet !

Something like an MX-5/Miata is probably the safest bet

It's a sluggish transformer orphan. There are better convertable European options in the used car market

Like what?
@El_ae_Ron9 ай бұрын
Do you have any ? That’s still around this price range , for reference these sell for 8k for 100k miles while being a HARD TOP convertible
@donnasingleton63209 ай бұрын
Any convertable that's not a transformer. Soft top BMW's, soft top VW cabriolets, SAABs, Toyota Solaris, Audi A5, Mazda MX5, Ford Mustang, Chevy Camaro. I personally have an '75 MGB. Basically a no frills convertable. I'm sure you can find one in the UK as easily as I did in the USA. It's only the second convertable I've ever owned, the first being a Chrysler LeBaron, which I don't recommend either.
@donnasingleton63209 ай бұрын
@El_ae_Ron 2011 Chrysler 200, BMW 3 Series, Volvo C70 have hard tops, so do some Mecedes. If you drive tested the VW EOS and liked it, go for it, buy it. It is a good looking car, it just doesn't perform as well as their other models. Good luck on your search

Unreliable, roof will leak and break. Water will leak into the boot. Areas around the mirrors will rust and flake. Practicality is poor. Maintenance and parts are expensive. The windows always have to go up the last few cm to push up into the seals too and this motor will have problems and is expensive to fix. Used German cars are just never a good idea.
