I have a Clubsport S and it is a very special car, the Porsche racing engineers along with VW's rally engineers perfected this car. The Clubsport S is a baby Porsche and built like one with amazing character. I have had more expensive cars and also own fast classic cars but nothing compares to this car which is hard to explain or understand if you have not driven one. This is a real collectors car and I would suggest getting one as the driving experience will not disappoint and neither will the value increasing so it's a no brainer!1

totally agree! I actually have a clubsport with DCC and PSC2's and have driven a clubsport s. The clubsport is a fun car but the s is on a different level, especially the turn in is way better.

Dan sort of sums it up, better to get the normal one and polish it up to how you want it. Which you have to do as these are all bought anyhow. Still love the Mk5 Edition 30. Age has not made that any less desirable.

Good review and it echoes my thoughts about the standard Clubsport being the pick of the range for the most involving, fun to drive Golf. All the party bits, aero pack, bucket seats, special sport touches and overall track orientation of the S, but with all the practicality of a standard Golf intact. The actual performance differences between Clubsport/Clubsport S are too minor to sacrifice the rear seats, big head unit, part of the sound insulation and the overall (trademark) Golf practicality for a slightly better feeling right at the limit. I'd like much more additions/upgrades over the standard Clubsport to accept living without all that stuff. Let the collectors pay more for less :-)

Exactly!! Spoken by a Wise Man !!! - Maby thats why i do not regret my purchase decision of the Normal Clubsport! Also i got a BACKSEAT & Smoother Suspension! With only 20 HP less (on top of that Full Leather Interior.. ;) Also it is 11.000 DOLLARS cheaper than the R - While at the same time looking much Cooler... Got mine 3 days ago!! DSG, DCC, Sunroof, Dynaudio wth a Nutty neat Subwoofer in trunk! The electronic steering wheel feels Superb!! ACC is genious!! Icant speak enough... Will have to do a Review some time of this. So anyone who like are welcome to Subscribe 3DFX channel, if they want to see something in the future from here! Where you thinking on purchasing one yourself? :)

Idontwantausernamist there are more diffs between cs and css than you say: exhaust, suspension, brakes...

It appears to be a good car- but I'd prefer a BMW 1M coupe.

No because the Clubsport is 100+ kg lighter than that fat-ass 7R.
