The DTM up-swept exhaust is a dead giveaway as to when this car was built....so 90s. Awesome find R. I'm excited to see how it all plays out. Keep up the great work buddy. I always look forward to Wednesdays to see what's happening in the Mystery Garage!

Oh...My...God...I can't believe you found this. From how you sound I probably don't want to know what you paid for this. This thing is LOADED! A Momentum Motorsports build?! They only did big dollar builds back in the day! I oogled over that bahnbrenner setup every Waterfest. For the money that person spent at that time they probably could have bought an R32! I think this is a great setup for stepchild what an improvement! You never mentioned what 16v this is (2.0, 1.8, tall deck)? This is awwwwesome!!! Soooo, standalone for stepchild AND the drag car?! LOL!
@MysteryGarage3 жыл бұрын
Hahaha weeellllll… let’s just say I paid a little more than the original cost of the peliquin diff itself, for the entire car as you see it! Pretty stoked for sure! And it’s a 2.0 9A sorry I missed that! This thing is awesome and I have lots more in store before I pull it all out that’s for sure! Thanks for watching, the comments and your continued support, really appreciate it!!

That is one awesome find! 16v G60 wow! Jeroen Dik became the most famous guy in the vw scene for doing his 16vg60 build in the 90's here in the Netherlands. It was in all the magazines. Check out his website, he knows a lot and he might be on vortex. Don't you want to know what this would do on the dyno? Maybe nice to see a before and after! 1.8 16vg60 vs 2.0 16vg60. That cabrio would still be a really neat car with a aba in it and with the interior sorted.
@MysteryGarage3 жыл бұрын
Super stoked on this one for sure! I’ll have to look that on up, see if I remember it! Ya not to sure what I’ll end up doing with the “rest” of the car down the road, but too cool to scrap/part I think, so have to make a plan at some point! Thanks for watching! Appreciate the support as always!! Cheers!!

I think Shawn Vaneer had a hand on that engine. I am building an ABA 16V turbo for my mk1 jetta. Was thinking of using my old mk4 Eurodyne Maestro tuned ecu. Can’t wait to see the updates

Awesome engine in the new Cabiolet! I am actually working on a S2 Scirocco that I plan to Supercharge at some point in the future. This Scirocco already has a 9A 16v in it from Mk2 GTI, I have added a bigger I take intake cam (stock 215 from a UK spec. Mk2 GTI) to the engine since purchasing the car last year.

When Digifant is given lager injectors it will be pig rich until 75 degreeC even if the chip is made for the new big injectors. This is due to the Digifant just add Xms to the injector open time. Have this on my B2 16vT with Digifant.

Hi from South Africa. What happened to step child? The last episode i saw was that it went off to have paint done. I know you bought the Cabio with the 16v supercharger. I watched this epsidoe but i dont recall you saying anything about it. I was looking forward to see you actually putting the car back together and get it going. I have an 83 GT 2 door, that i rebuilt and i am currently redoing a lot of stuff on it. Your videos are great, i found your channel coz of the ABF clone video. I am doing something similar with the engine but im doing forced induction. I might actually do some videos on it but i know it is loads of work. Good luck and please let me know about step child.
