Nobody uses voice control in real life and I've never been in a car where it works.

Very simple to switch it off in settings, there is a button on the steering wheel to activate it as and when you wish to use it.

@@gordonf1997 it does talk to you randomly every so often but I have a theory that it is because of the buttons on the steering wheel and hitting the voice button in error while driving. I don't use the voice commands. It would be like using Siri on your mobile. Completely pointless. My only gripe with the id4 interior is the window controls. You have to hold your finger on the 'rear' button for it to respond.

I have driven an ID4 for the past 16 months and have had less false activations of the voice assistant in 16 months than Nobby had in this video. I really wonder if he was brushing the button on the steering wheel accidentally and activating it that way....

I think try drive both, the EV6 has more of a ‘coupe’ feel to it the way it handles I find, the ID5 feels like the bigger car, chunkier for sure.

The voice control works well when you actually want it to do something in my id3. You can disable the listening feature from the infotainment so that you press a button to have it listen to when you want it instead. But ya f*ck me it's annoying when it's constantly listening. For the money and how long speech recognition has been around it should really be dialled in my now. But I guess you could say same for vw and their software updates!

You sure you weren't taking the piss and pressing the button on the steering wheel to activate the voice control Nobby? I've had my ID4 for 16 months and voice control has activated in error less times in total in that time than in your video. You can in any case switch off voice activation in settings very easily. My ID5 GTX is due to be built the week after next, can't wait to get my hands on it.

Oh my goodness that voice control is so so annoying but are any voice control on any car any good. I was in the new Lexus NX and it was also useless but no way as irritating as this one. Way too expensive and terrible voice control…..is there no way to turn that voice control off completely?

Considering the year round nature of our driving, a summer range of 400 is a realistic winter range of 300/320? For €70k? The economics make zero sense on the id5, it seems to be an inner city vanity purchase

Should get 350 in winter from that larger battery but depends on how much power is used by your foot I guess.

Great video Always love ure content. Looks alot better than the id4 but it’s still a terrible car 😂😂😂. Infotainment system is a shocker and believe me I’ve suffered with one for a month.

@@bruts82 Again, youve been playing the same violin for over a year. VAG software works perfectly fine. When Volkswagen launched their new software in the First Edition ID4 and Golf mk8, it was buggy. A year later they had sorted it out. I also own a 2020 Audi along with a 2022 ID4 and the clock in the Audi resets every day. It has a few software bugs but it doesn't make it a bad car. Volkswagen made a big error launching the ID4 with software issues. The problem is, people like yourself are still going on about it after the issues were addressed. On the topic of the voice control. It isn't great but what car has a good voice control system today? The reason it keeps going off in the video is because he is repeating the word ID.

@@pato10111 look good luck with your iD4 but they are simply poor vehicles. Vw already considering backlighting controls for next model and removing haptic buttons on steering wheel. That says it all about the current car

I was hoping for a better review Nobby. Nearly every Auto Journo jumps uses the same copy. The ID.5 is a very different beast than the ID.4. They both have the same price tag, only the ID.5 has more tech and better efficiency. What? you didnt check Nobby?? If you go to 'Build my VW' and build a 'like for like' spec between the Id 4 and 5 they are about the same price. Only about 1K between them, but the ID.5 is better looking and has more bells and whistles.

most dangerous and unsafe infotainment system on the road. for those of you who don't know what i am talking about, ask those who own an ID4 (like myself). same infotainmentsystem in the ID5. if you dont die in a car accident because of it, itmost def increases risk of a stroke if u have high blood pressure.

They're selling and an ID is a great family car with kids. It has plenty of space for a mid sized EV. They're not ridiculously expensive when you compare to the price of a Polestar or Tesla.
