Volkswagen Logo Timeline Evolution

Although Volkswagen (translated to "the people's car") started with a pretty controversial logo in 1937, the German automaker's car logo evolved substantially over the years. Well, "evolved" is maybe an overstatement, because during its lifetime the logo remained pretty much the same, with minor changes. The classical VW logo is one of the most iconic car logos from one of the most popular car brands.

I like the logo introduced in the year 2000 the most. It has very nice colors, looks modern, has the 3D effect, and just looks like it is higher quality design, where an effort was put in. Definitely the peak, definitely my favorite. The 1999 is really good also. I like the slight "glow" effect in the middle of it by using bit lighter color. The current one is basically 1967 with depressing color and slight change of the W letter not touching the circle... very creative indeed...

You can tell the first one will become a swastika if you spin it at the right rpm. The rest are much better disguised. Porsche emblem does it too but is much better disguised.

Completely different Logo. Hullo??? No Break/slot between V & W. Obviously. Or it makes no sense graphically. In many languages, Inc Deutsch, there is no Double U. It's a V twice. Hence the one above the other. With the central point/tip protruding just slightly through the upper Letter to show it's not a continuation.
