Thanks a lot for making this video. 👍 I changed both of these bushings on my Golf MK5 tonight and it was not a big problem at all to change them. I really like that you are telling the torque and newtonmeters in this video because that was very helpful when i was installing the new bushings.

So easy to do whilst on a lift, but for those doing it on jack stands at home, a couple of long pry bars helps. One to lever the wishbone downwards (to clear the plastic tray) , and with the other hand and pry bar lever the bushing off the wishbone.

My VW dealer quoted me $728 to replace the control arm bushings on my 2014 CC. What am I missing? That looks extremely quick and easy.

any idea how to remove the bolts without breaking it, cuz the housing is alluminium and the bolt is iron.

Now the hex shouldn't spin inside the hex bushing correct? Like if you twist on the bushing on control arm it should spring back and not slip the hex part of the co trol arm? My new ones seem to jjst spin on the control arm with very little effort.

If you rotate them they will jump a flat on the center, I wouldn’t sweat that too much

Symptoms of bad one? My gti mk6 all of sudden no warning makes a clunk noise when i tap on brakes on the passenger side. Then when i let of brake feels like the car moves up n down like over a speed bump

You say we need 18mm and 16mm bolts. But should we go 5mm x 16mm, 4mm x 16mm, 6mm x 16mm, 7mm x 16mm, 8mm x 16mm? same with 5mm x 18mm, 4mm x 18mm, 6mm x 18mm, 7mm x 18mm, 8mm x 18mm?

i guess i could just check at the parts store with the origional ones and go from there. ill let you know if i end up getting the right ones in the meantime.

I don't think you can press it out, but the whole item is quite cheap anyway. Less than 20 for a pattern part.
