Volkswagen Multivan - family transport made better

The Volkswagen Multivan is the most practical van to come out of the German company for the last few years. It does not replace their current lineup of vans, rather it's added to the list of what can be used for family vehicles.
I think this is a great addition to the kind of cars we can have in the future along with the current lineup of cars.

Can you run the AC and heat purely on the hybrid battery until it runs out in Pure Electric mode? The engine doesn't kick in when you put the AC on, right?

Hi Bob, Your T6 review came out about the time I bought one here in Australia and I subscribed back then because it was the most honest and logical review of it. My question to you is this: would you trade a T6 TDI 4Motion for a new T7? My concern is it’s a dramatic step backwards in interior size, space and robust longevity?

By the time you order the longer version and pay the VRT, this hybrid is likely beyond the financial reach of most if not all Irish families who might otherwise have dipped their toe in electric. Seems we must wait for an ID all-electric version of a VW minivan. Were I the Product Manager in Ireland, I would say save the grief and don't bother bringing it in, so as to save on dealership training, etc.

Hi Bob Some of us love JDM (Japanese Domestic Market) Hondas - check out the Honda StepWGN (Stepwagon) which has a lot of what you now find in VW T6s. Our 2002 model has an electric sliding door, turnaround front seats, a middle row with a built in table and can carry 8 people (some small ones preferably!).

The first film that shows well the limitations of the new multivan. Unfortunately, the long version does not offer more comfort for passengers, but more space for luggage. This car was designed by someone who has never or very rarely drove such vehicles. Vielen Dank Herr Kirzinger. Das wird nicht meine nachste Multivan. Schade.

Sorry, what’s the point of this vehicle?? Laughable levels of legroom for a family van. Totally impractical. Yeah it looks nice form the outside.

It's use as a day van allows you to do things that a car doesn't. I used to have a similar thing ( Citroen Synergie ) and for days at the race track with the seats configured right, it was spot on for use as a warm and comfortable place to sit down and eat / rest. Day vans are great things.

you are just evolutionally behind of the rest of developed world... I went from volvo XC90 to Volvo V90CC Ocean Race... now I should get my fully specced T7 in march (need the room because of 3 kids). 7 seater SUV-s are pure vomit - extra seats are so impractical to use and 3 modern child seats will not fit on 2nd row bench... SUV-s in general are pointless - you should go for proper offroader if needed... otherwise go for station wagon or battlewagon. I mean, my V90CC has more ground clearance than most of the SUV-s now days...
