Sure, I’ll have one. I’ll give Kia ten grand for it. No? Ok. Pass. So, why don’t they sell ‘em? Very simple, people aren’t as stupid as they think. The main players in the automotive world have been part of the con from the start. Since the EV idea started, they’ve been ramming it down our throats that lithiums and cobalts and nickels, together with their oxides, phosphates and titanates as with all the mumbo jumbo required to confuse the general public into thinking that batteries are soooo expensive. Sure, mining is expensive, so is drilling for oil. It’s just that if you sell lots of it the cost ratio drops considerably. To add insult to injury THESE THINGS HAVE NO ENGINE AND NO GEARBOX, the two big-budget outlays in the industry. On the back of this, combustion engined cars have seen their prices steadily and artificially increased well beyond inflation rates to “match” the EV’s. And so we have it. The traditional affordable model which until relatively recently was selling for twelve thousand, and its electric counterpart priced at double - remember: same chassis, no engine, no gearbox - then the former pushed to twenty and the electric model, which should cost half, i.e. six, is a “bargain at “only” twenty two. If ever there were a modern version of the emperor’s new clothes, this is it.

Hi Bob I hope you might bring back some program to talk about all of the evs that people are buying in Ireland and what it cost for insurance for first year and how much there after thanks for this video
@andyjdhurley2 күн бұрын
There's no denying that this is the segment of car that the buyers want and it would be foolish as a manufacturer to ignore it. In the countryside where I live anything less than a compact crossover as a main family car would be risky, you need a decent wading depth and some ability on verges/passing spaces. I've been looking at the Niro for a few years now hoping to get one one day but this may just be my new favourite. I could not persuade the family to go EV last time (I went for a used Vitara Allgrip instead) but I am sure that won't be the case next time.

Owning an eSoul64 for 3 years i will never buy a front wheel drive BEV again. Slow charging speed of EV3 on top. No chance against Smart/Volvo or new Cupra Born VZ.

I liked the Niro, thought it was the best bang for the buck. Here in Denmark you usually got them fully equipped. And the electric one drove closest to a normal car (not that heavy compared to other family EVs).

Looks like the replacement for the Soul and Niro … very interesting replacement for mine. Bigger boot than Soul, similar to Niro size I guess. Irish ones probably won’t get the sunroof either, like the current range. Glad to see frunk - even if it could’ve been a bit bigger. Is the front bonnet release manual or electric ? Hope they have the 12Volt battery problems sorted!

Interesting car. I had hoped that they would have started tp roll out the 800V architecture and V2L across the range as they introduce the new cars.
@dcvariousvids80822 күн бұрын
800v requires a heavier & more expensive HV wiring harness. I guess they are trying to keep the weight and production cost down.

I’ve been waiting for this with bated breath. I am currently driving a Kia XCeed 1.5 turbo which is outstanding in every way. I cannot speak highly enough about it. This is precisely what the market needs. And I’m told it will be built in Slovakia, where Kia cars are built with a much higher standard of interior finish than those built in Korea. Easily as good as the German premium brands. Can’t come soon enough!

I used to have a 2009 Kia Proceed 2.0 Crdi which I bought from new. Sold it when I became a father (2 door hatch, not too practical) I never thought about reliability because that Kia never gave me a single issue, ever. I bought a VW from new and only in the first year it has spent A MONTH in the workshop, 1/12th of its life!
