Polo was/ is my favourite hatch but did not have that much money to go for it. Polo has awesome built quality, superb handling and an engine which nobody matched couple of years ago. Nonetheless this design aged well.

It's also worthy to mention in the long term videos, the amount of aftermarket support and upgrading potential the polo has being a part of VAG group. I myself have installed a OEM gti cluster, Oem flip reverse camera, euro spec air intakes and the lost goes on. It's a enthusiast car in every right and the perfect blank canvas to make the car truly your own.

I own a Polo , TSI manual and apart from the rear seat space no issues at all. After driving Polo i don't feel like driving Korean/Japanese counterparts since they lack the "Feel"

It is the last one wearing the "hot hatch" hat, a dying segment. It had some excellent predecessors and competitors. Hot hatches started in India with the Zen, then the segment saw Uno, Palio, Swift, Figo, Punto, JTP, Abarth, a Merc, an Audi and even a rear-wheel-drive BMW. This VW is the last one standing in the segment. I'll get out of here before someone coughs "N-line".

The Indian version of the N-Line is not even The Cough. It’s that before feeling of getting sick. Koreans are trying really hard from years but Germans are way ahead in the Automobile Industry. Polo being a 10 year old car is a perfect example of benchmark engineering and no nonsense selling points. It does what it has to. That too beating the shit out of everyone around it. 🔥

As an European that is viewing this channel i just want this car. Sure we did have Blue GT that did have 1.4 TSI with 6-Speed Manual or 7-Speed DSG Automatic but in spec wise closes to the GT TSI we had an R-Line Bluemotion That had the same 1.2 TSI and DSG but yeah. MK6 (Currently in Europe) is boring compared to the MK5. It's just Less interesting to drive, Bigger and missing some key features that are in MK5 Like adjustable handrest and cooler to the glovebox. also it's not that quick as the MK5 but it's more with the size and it's doesn't have hot versions compare to the MK5 Like Blue GT and Sure it did have an GTI and that is coming back as with the Facelift but still it's just doesn't live for the Polo name than this. i would want to buy this one because better looks, smaller size and better package overall and it's more fun to drive believe me. MK6 is more Grown up in character compare the more energetic MK5. I Own an 2013 GTI and I'm happy to own that but if i would have change to import one theese then i would. MK5 😍💛

not as easy as it looks on the outside. The update that Europe has got will be way too expensive for our Indian market. And then it'll render the car useless for VW India. that's why they kept doing the minor updates. and are bringing a India specific update later this economic year.

The sub 4 meter rule is pathetic and global manufacturers are forced to change design to reduce tax when it reaches India. New pole is more than 4 meter and it will be expensive if it comes to India. Its high time India chuck this rule.

@@arv1ndgr Frankly my driving is only going to be weekends and highways so In retrospection polo seemed lot better than EV. I test drove nexon ev for 3 kms in sports mode and battery went down 6 %. So I felt this is how I want to drive and the car is not made for me. Plus the design with blue inserts in wrong places and child like tail lights completely put me off. A 8 lakhs altroz looks million times better than a 16 lakhs nexon ev.

Changed my mind and booked TSI manual Highline plus… manual is more fun and engaging to drive I believe… I would like to shift my own gears 🤪.. and it’s value for money… don’t wanna spend extra 1.3 L for GT badge and automatic gear box since both produces same amount of torque and power… waiting for my beauty to arrive… it’s my first car pretty excited

@Joel Charles I have faced no such issues. Many of the issues faced by DSG are due to drivers' habits as well. I would recommend getting this car thoroughly checked while buying it second-hand because in some cases cheap spare replacement can be a problem.

I own a highline 1.0 TSI automatic, just love the car, it should have had curtain airbags, Auro spec gti instrument cluster, LED or atleast Projector headlights ( the ones on it now are absolutely preposterous), and some more interior lights....I feel I am blind inside the car while searching for things. It's not a DSG but a torque converter, but it still thoroughly fun. Wipers could have been better, I have found the rubber hardens quickly. Otherwise a great car.

I dunno if it’s just me, but man this still looks the best in its segment. While i do enjoy driving I won’t calm myself an enthusiast per se… thanks to the timeless engineering & well stupid designers all round in other companies. (Except the Altroz) From personal experience if you want to own a Polo but need more space just get the Rapid! 😄

If you are in your early 20s, buy this car.if you are buying it as a second car also perfect. If you are buying this as your first car keep in mind that it's a 2 seater with the rear seats usable only for kids. If you are a VW fan please consider vento or Skoda rapid. VW is too lazy to fix it and there are channels like this who are promoting this. Imagine you have to pick up your friends or family from the airport and you only have a polo, what are you going to do? book uber?

I definitely agree i too own a polo it has been a dream car for so long that I don't even remember it.. but it is an absolute honor to be in list of vw polo owners in India.. Mannnn that car makes me drool over it every time i see it.. absolute beauty!! it has flaws though i don't know if anybody has noticed but the dashboard reflects itself on the windscreen on a hot sunny day and it totally blinds me on a day light.. on rainy days the heat from the engine creates fog on the windscreen blinding me yet again.. If anybody has solution to that please let me know

Just got the GT Matte edition home, post a lot of test drives on other cars ranging from I20, Seltos, Nexon to Honda Jazz. GT TSI was last in the list but its so fixiating that couldn’t resist buying it. It does lack a few features but the moment you drive it everything seems worth it.

A better video would have been a comparo with the highline AT, coz that actually raises the question, whether GT is still needed.

I think the primary reason why they don't upgrade is because the face-lift can be priced at premium and they don't wanna lose polo customers But this is now one of the most outdated cars in production with very minor face-lift so a update has to in inevitable for new age car buyers

i bought the gt cuz of traffic.. gt is also geard a lot shorter than manual so it feels more lively in gear. responses are more eager in 2nd and 3rd gears in traffic.. u can test drive both and see difference.. manual is still manual tho.. no beating the engagement factor

It all boils down to what you prefer, the AT is super convenient and practical, yet fun. The MT will more affordable and offer more engagement.

@@sahil01s bro , in mumbai traffic, you will get a left hand and left foot workout in the horrible traffic . Hence automatic is much better . But if course, if you have empty roads in your travelling .. go for the manual :)
