@@benzoabuse I have the same issue. Mines used ($200 off Offerup), I was going to swap it into my 2010 Jetta. I believe it's a software or hardware issue

@@carsonac4163 its a sofware probleem...first you need to know the hardware version...than you will need to burn the firmware on a dvd and let the radio update by dvd

@@tristin7347 idk about that but I did solve this just now by holding both arrow buttons and the star at the same time. Hope it works for you (it's a soft reset)

@@benzoabuse still no fix huh? Most likely you need to replace the Hard drive…. However the hard drive (ssd) PATA is like 60$ then you have to track down the original software and firmware. Some guy on eBay says he can fix it for like 120$ im going to send mine in. Let y’all know if he fixes it!

This is how I fixed this issue on my RNS 510 : 1 - Download of an older version of firmware (2660 for mine) 2 - Burn the ISO file on a CD / DVD 3 - Go to the car 4 - Start the RNS pushing and holding (about five to ten seconds) the three buttons : voice/eject/setup 5 - The RNS show this message : "system unable to start, insert SWL DVD" 6 - Insert the DVD you burned earlier, a message to ask you to confirm the installation. Answer that you want to run it and wait... 7 - Let the install finish the downgrade and reboot the RNS 8 - Tadaaaaa !!! Now it works ! (no more maps or music but no more looping "boot" too ! :) Then you can chose to let it like this (after maps install)... or try to upgrade step by step... You now know how to fix the issue of booting screen... then if it appears again, redo all these steps... and stop at the last upgrade that worked at your first try. ;) This just worked on my RNS 510 (official)... hope it will work with yours !
