Got the stock audio system. I feel like the system is totally badly calibrated when you listen to original recordings. It's basically 90% removing the bass guitars in all rock music, even though you can hear the bass drums very loud. I suspect two things: 1) they couldn't resist putting some awful software that destroys the original signal by detecting drums and making them too prominent. 2) they thought people would only listen to overly energy-compressed tuning like radios do. I'll have to spend some time trying to find a software solution to do fine-equalization and fight against their own signal-processing software.
