Went in for the first oil change and was told rear brakes were needed. This is a 2023 model right around 9k miles in the.

About the rear brakes. my 2015 Jetta also eats up rear brakes. the front ones look like new still. I had heard the brakes on the Volkswagen are a bit biased to the rear so the car doesn’t nose dive when you break hard so that could be the problem.

That is strange. Mine has 40,000 miles and I am just looking at the brakes. While they should have last longer, it does seem the rear breaks do wear down fast but for me it was 40K

40k is pretty good for holding up. Seems to be not all but some Taos with this issue. Let’s see how these holds up 🤞

I Own a 22 taos, best advice is dont buy one. Im a longtime VW guy and former technician who still owns a Mk4 R32. The taos is literally a money grab car. Its full of issues and constantly changing brake pads in the rear is ridiculous. The start stop error causes drivability issues, early models have headgasket issues, turbo software is glitching out randomly, the Panoramic sunroof lift is a waste of money if its too hot. Only has 16,xxx miles ☠️

My 2023 Taos had nothing but problems in the first 20k miles. EPC and check engine light for 5 different "Fuel" problems. Head gasket went just before 20k miles im at 32k now and no problems yet but only 12k miles after all the "Fixes" i guess time will tell how much more i will encounter. Best advice is to stay away from the Toas! For 30k you can get something better and more reliable!

I have a 22 taos SE, and they told me my rear brakes are almost gone. I only had over 20000 miles at that time. Lots of issues with this car, smh....
