The world is moving towards crossover SUVs but Volkswagen is trying its bit to save the three box sedan with the introduction of the Virtus. They reckon that by making it fun to drive and by offering a high seating position along with good ground clearance, they can appeal to enthusiasts and family car buyers who likes sedans but would have otherwise bought a crossover like the Taigun or Kushaq

Yes yes yes. Sedans have always been my fav since younger years. I was terribly sad seeing the direction the market has taken favouring SUVs over everything, pushing out every other type of cars. I hope this is a new dawn for the sedan segment. Chaathanmaare! Kaathone☠️

But practically of situations is what drives us away from the sedans. I live in Bangalore and as both of them mentioned in the video, the bad roads, in-city floods and ageing parents is what made me choose a sub compact SUV over a Skoda Rapid, last year. Mind you, I love sedans and Rapid was amongst my fav

@@AntiMatter67 but roads are getting better. Majority of roads are good nowadays in kerala. Also, there’s no body rolling in sedan’s but suv’s do. So ageing parents will be more comfortable in sedans than suv’s, especially for long drives. I agree seats are low but it’s not that big a deal. Bought a rapid over creta/nexon last year and extremely happy about the choice.

Superb review as always. Virtus clearly has a stately look as against Slavia. Those who love that would go for Virtus. Glad to know it's fun to drive too. The big part in an enthusiastic drive is the steering. EPS in mass market cars has become a big downer in that respect. Always used to wonder whether one could do some coding to make the steering feel more heavier. Can't stop thinking of the diesel mill, that's being sorely missed here, thanks to BS6 and VW s own undoing. The DQ 200 would surely be always a hanging sword above. But I guess if the car is not largely used in heavy city traffic it should do okay and with a proactive change of ATF at 60k or so.. After a while, a lovely looking classy sedan for Indian market. Kudos to VW I heard that VW is shortly introducing their famed PDK technology in Virtus too. 2 cyl Permanently Deactivated for Kerala (PDK) edition in 750 cc guise ;) 😜 😜

We're getting that much information just because of your sincere efforts and passion towards automotive world ❤️❤️... As the Virtus GT came into the picture, Slavia 1.5 would be playing the role of a sleeper car and the best part you won't go wrong either way... Very much delighted to see the sedan segment is getting more good products and they're not boring ones... Colour palatte getting vibrant is a good thing but the consumers should take the next step of buying those colours (ofcourse if they like) so it'd help the company to bring more.... Both slavia and virtus looks great.....but I think virtus has more sporty looks( 1.5) only but I think there will be a monte Carlo version of slavia will be launching with a full black interior and all chrome elements will be cut out and it may be looks more sportier than the 1.5 virtus.

Can someone explain why manufacturers can’t make the car slightly wider so that 3 adults can sit comfortably at the rear? I’m okay compromising on some legroom or even the boot space. But spending 20+ lacs on a car which can’t accommodate 5 people is a concern. For many, car buying decision depends on the family also.

Been following you both. Good reviews. I have been using a vento 1.6 highline. Good German Car. I like the VW. My comments on the virtus is as follows. Good styling. Typically VW. Personally I don't like the black alloys wheels. Good interiors and sitting posture. GT too expensive. What is your view on 1.0 liter TSI for Typically kochi to Bangalore run. I am particular about mileage and a very steady driver , I don't jack rabbit. Does high stance of the suspension increase pitch and body roll.?

actually they are crossing 80 or 100 kmph(not sure) and the buzzer sounds. Just for the fun part JD is mentioning go below 40 so that the buzzer won’t sound. Vivek also mentioned that there is some problem with buzzer when they speed 😄😄

The man was cruising 150+ I guess. Because when you cross 80 kmph there'll be a single buzzer sound and when you cross 120 the buzzer starts alarming untill you reduce the speed to 120-. Look how Vivek ji is. He's excited in the engine.
