Thanks. Needed to get my Conn 88h rotor bsck in shape and this was what I needed--never occurred to me to put some down the tube itself.

Just got my first f trigger trombone. When you say valve oil is there a specific kind for trombone or would it be the same stuff you'd use on trumpet?

Same, if you're referring to a rotary valve trumpet. Piston valve instruments need thinner oil though, so don't put piston oil on the trombone.

Correction, what I've said applies to the spindles, but if you want to oil the face of the valve, use a lighter oil, like a piston oil, or just nothing at all. It's not absolutely necessary.

Why do you use different oils? I’m learning to play the trombone (am a trumpet player). Are the bearings completely isolated from the valve?

No, but the bearing oil lasts longer and the valve oil keeps it from dragging the sides
