With Haikyuu the highs are high and the lows are low, emotion-wise. There's a joke in the fandom that the best thing about Haikyuu is that you care about every team, and that the worst thing about Haikyuu is that you care about every team. So after every match, it's always bitter-sweet.

One of the best things about Haikyuu is that the original writer, Haruichi Furudate, was also a former volleyball player in their junior highschool years playing as Mid Blocker. So a lot of the writing really feels from the heart!

These episodes are still one of my favorites. Asahi's and Noya's moments never fail to make me emotional. I could honestly go on and on about this show, but one of the things I find really interesting is that above anything else, Haikyuu is a story about passion. And every character represents a different side of passion. Hinata has the infinite, burning passion, while Tsukshima is someone who, right now, has no passion at all. And Asahi is someone who suppressed his own passion out of fear. I think that this is one of the reasons Haikyuu is so popular and inspiring for so many people. It's because passion is a theme that surpasses the genre and the sport of the anime. Even if you've never been apart of any sport in your life, chances are you can still identify with being unable to do something out of fear. Just like Asahi has. Which is why it means so much when we see Asahi overcome himself and his fears. You can look at Asahi's character and it feels _real._ A character maybe, but one that represents real emotions and real struggles. And if his struggle is real, then the chance at overcoming it just might be real as well.
@otane79444 жыл бұрын
Thats why its easy to relate ourselves to these characters especially their struggles. We must have experienced it at some point in our lives without realizing it.

This HAS to be one of my favorite episodes in the series! I love this episode so much! Everything comes together in such a neat way. Brining the new coach that pushes Asahi to get in even when he was just roaming around not knowing whether to go inside or not. The backstory of why Noya was suspended and why Asahi was not in the team. Their personalities and the way we get to know them both. Noya being an absolute legend, he got suspended and what did he do in that time? Practice the one thing that was missing from the match in which he lost Asahi! And when Asahi finaly wakes up and screams to the top of his lungs as if he had been holding it for so long. And the final shot in which you can swear he is shaking his tears away. GOD! This anime is legendary!
@otane79444 жыл бұрын
I love how technical you are with this anime. I still cant get over this episode tbh. This anime is just perfect. I cant find any flaw. 🥰
@ArgKnoxville864 жыл бұрын
@@otane7944 There is a lot to see in this anime. Given it didn't have a great budget in the begining it had to do the best with what it had. These 9 episodes are a proof of that. Every scene and character counts, and the way they intermix with eachother. To the point you'd wish it had some filler so you'd know more about their lives and their background. That is what blew me away the first time watching it, the script and characters. And then the cinematography and soundtrack are there to reward multiple watchs and discover so many details in the camera and sound effects and music queues. And it gets better! You're in for a very good ride!

I don't know if someone already brought this up, but episode 9's flashback with Asuhi losing to the blockers is the reason why Suga was so upset about the broken mop earlier in the season and said that it could be fixed. He didn't want the broken mop thrown away because it was a result of the fight the three of them had and he was hoping that the rift between all of them after that loss could be fixed. It's definitely emotional when you think about that.

Haikyuu has such a great way of messing with your feelings! So I totally understand your emotions. 😭 And Asahi is the biggest softie. It's always so interesting to hear your input on volleyball! Just as a heads up though, I think you can sometimes stop the episode for a second when you're explaining something volleyball related as you can elaborate more and I don't get the itchy feeling that you're missing stuff while doing so. It might be just me but sometimes I get confused when I hear you talking while characters in the anime talk and I try listening to both. It's just an idea though :) Otherwise great reaction!

Fun fact just in case anyone else hasn’t mentioned it, but the composer of the soundtrack also composed for My Hero. So if there’s ever an epic or tense moment in the show and the music is there to match, that’s why. P.S. the subs also share quite a few voice actors between the shows. Notably Tsukki and Shigaraki, Nishinoya and Bakugo, Kageyama and Iida, and Asahi and Tokoyami. Among other non Karasuno characters

I am never really into sport type anime. Not basket, soccer, racing. But haikyuu really good to watch

2:50 he's good at digging and receiving but he's not so good with the over head receives. He has a hard time receiving really good jump floaters since you need the over head receive to receive it perfectly. Btw if you've watched My Hero Academia/Boku No Hero Academia, Yuu's (The Libero) VA is the VA of Bakugo. Also kinda excited when they explain some technical terms like "read blocks" and Dedicated Shifts. Also the Tempos.
