Before the Olympic, Takeshita (JPN Setter) broke her finger. She didn't tell her teammates. It makes me more emotional.

Shinnabe was also the key player for this match acknowledging her consistent playing especially deffending and also that three consecutive points at the latter part of third set before their winning point.

Whoever won, Kim was the best throughout this Olympic. No debate. Despite her team finishing in 4th place, she was the top scorer and MVP. Crazy. It's a shame Korea wasn't able to win a medal despite her efforts. Hope the team does better at Tokyo with Kim.

had high hopes with the lee twins in the line up and their new coach but tokyo olympics will be tough: china, serbia, italy, usa, japan, and brazil are all strong medal contenders!!

@@vv-dn9fg the lees are suspended for there association though. That’s litterally saying goodbye for a podium finish for Kim whom I consider as the greatest Player in the past decade. The saddest part, this may be her last Olympic games

@@allanadrianl.mondejar1822 Ishida is one of Japan's big spikers alongside Kurihara, but they didn't make the cut for the final roster in London. Ishida was replaced by Sakoda and Kurihara was replaced by Shinnabe.
@thebigitchy3 жыл бұрын
She was recently in a video with Kano and Ebata, and while she revealed that she was wearing Ishida's uniform shirt under her own after this match, it was a little known fact that she started wearing it from the quarter finals. Apparently she didn't like hand washing both of the shirts after the matches, so even though she wasn't supposed to, before this match she sent them out to be washed to Ebata's dismay. Also the reason why Ishida's uniform was worn, but no one wore Kurihara's is because on the day of the opening ceremonies, Ishida heard that her mother was in critical condition (and eventually passed away), and returned to Japan.

Came here right after the latest video of Kim Yeon Koung (Shikbbang Eonnie). To know that she was in so much pain playing for this game, makes this video even more heartbreaking.

44:55 Did the commentator really confuse Japan's captain with Korea's...? It is Kim who's captain for Korea... not another case of mistaken Asian identity by white male commentators. And he mispronounces Araki's name lol. There's two teams, it's not that hard.
@thebigitchy3 жыл бұрын
Yea, for whatever reason he thought that Araki was the Korean captain?... I haven't finished watching the match, but the announcing is noticeably worse than the Japan-China match. Poor pronunciation, some weird racism ("there are lots of Hans and Kims on the Korean team"), and kind of odd announcing mistakes. He keeps referring to Sano as "the libero," and inconsistently flip flops the given name and family name orders.
