I think that the Japanese coach simply understood that if he had released the main team, it would have been difficult, because Poland is in 1st place in the table, and the main players of Japan would have been very tired, against such a strong national team as Poland, and so the Japanese coach gave gave the main team a rest so that they could confidently win the next national teams, and gave the second team good experience against strong Polish players.

Note that Poland changed all players during the match without reducing the high quality of the game. Poland has so many world-class players that it could field three equally strong squads at the same time. This means that you cannot be fully tactically prepared to fight her. The Japanese coach fielded a second team because, having no chance, there was no point in upsetting the leading Japanese players with a loss. It was better to save them mentally and physically for the next match where they have a chance. It's a good plan.

3 strong players, more like 6 lol: main outsides Ishikawa and Ran, main libero Yamamoto, main setter Sekita, main opposite Nishida, main middle blocker, Onodera. It seems to me that they decided they didn't really need this match as they've been doing well and took this opportunity to let the bench players get practice and experience while getting to rest their main players. I came to this conclusion because they literally put none of them in, they even registered Ishikawa as the libero so that there wouldn't even be a chance of him hitting. And Poland is a really strong team so if they had any illusions of wining they know they would have had to go all out. And even though they were losing you could see the rest of the players on the bench cheering on those on the field, just being happy for the points they did get.
