So hard in fact that I couldn't smother it in guitar leads like I usually do, because the piano lines asked for shapes and patterns which were literally impossible to play on guitar at the song's speed. The piano in the intro is absolutely perfect in my cover as I've timed every note exactly the same to the original, which you can prove for yourself by just lining the start of this up with the original track and playing it at the same time. Unlike a lot of other covers I've also done the outro which is played when Volo is defeated in-game. Hope you enjoy my rendition of this incredible theme!

Volo has got to be my favorite Pokémon character yet. Not only is he the only one to ever make me cry (I actually did legitimately cry during that scene where he offers you help after everyone else turned on you), he’s the only villain I never saw coming. And the connection to Cynthia and that final battle really sealed it for me. Never had a real challenge before in Pokémon. That man _wrecked_ me the first couple of times I tried to fight him. Nintendo did a damn good job with this man, and I hope we at least get an easter egg of him one day in another game.

What I find so interesting about Volo's theme is that there seems to be some parts that almost sound.. happy? Or a little bit victorious? Which I suppose makes a little sense, since he's so close to seeing Arceus and has managed to summon Giratina already. Like, listen to 1:17, 3:11 and even 2:55 a bit, with the victorious and upbeat feeling. It's really interesting to think about, and this cover is just music to my ears, literally! 😆 So good!

The funny part is his ambitions would be adopted by Cyrus and Team Galactic the future. To dethrone God and stand as the new ruler of Creation and create a perfect world. A sentiment Giritina was more than willing to assist with as Giritina was the reason Palkia and Dialga were fighting. It was all a trap to lure out Arceus, a trap Arceus didn’t fall for and sent you instead.

Volo is easily my favorite villain in the entire franchise. I adored every second he was on screen, even though I saw his betrayal coming immediately. The moment he appeared after getting Cyndaquil, I knew he was evil. Yet I still loved him as a character, and all the little details thrown in to give you hints at his intentions. It's also interesting that Garchomp is the ace of a savior of worlds (Cynthia), and Togekiss being the ace of a world ending threat. I also feel I enhanced my experience further by reading all of his dialogue in Robbie Daymond's voice. :)

So I fought this battle for the first time today… **Spoilers Ahead** Garchomp swept Volo single-handedly and severely wounded Giratina Phase One, Luxray finished off Giratina Phase 1 and brought Giratina Origin down to half, and delivered the finishing blow with Typlosion. I won of my first go with three Pokemon.

Levels and moveset?

@@vololmao2812 Garchomp was an Alpha at level 81 (at the time, I think? They’ve all levelled a bit since then). Outrage, Stone Edge, Bulldoze and Iron Head, all mastered. Luxray was Level 84 at the time, Wild Charge, Crunch, Ice Fang and Thunder Wave, with all but Ice Fang mastered. Typhosion was Level 84 with Calm Mind, Flamethrower, Hyper Beam and Infernal Parade, with Flamethrower and Infernal Parade mastered. I honestly don’t even know how I became so overlevelled.

I was among the crowd that got wrecked- my team was on par with his levels, but I had accidentally played pokemon like a lil bab again and my entire team was physical sweepers. Which. Not great! But when I came back with a better team I won, so I guess it came down to balance for me

Same for me. I had my LV 77 Mesprit take down his Spiritomb, Then swept about 3 or 4 of his team with a LV 78 Lopunny and finished him off with my LV 77 Shiny Alpha Hisuian Zoroark (Had to flex, sorry). Then I went ahead and absolutely eradicated Giratina with Zoroark.

Very impressed with what you have done here. Small storytime so bare with me a bit. Way back when, in Pokémon Pearl, I met Cynthia. It was obvious she was special, but had no clue how special in the Pokémon world nor the real world effect she would have for future games. Once I learned she was the Pokémon Champion, got to her room, and that piano started playing. I would bring the DS to my ear and just listen. I'd go through the Elite Four several times for exp and just to listen to her piano theme again. While her actual battle theme is fine, I preferred the pre-battle one. Always did. That being the case, fast forward several years and imagine my surprise, joy, and slight frustration that Volo gets the better half of Cynthia's theme. On one hand, I got a remix of my favorite part of Cynthia's theme as the actual battle theme, like I always wanted. On the other hand, I wanted that to be Cynthia's battle theme literally since the beginning so ot being Volo's is a nice nod, but... It was a very bitter sweet moment. All that said, love what you did here. Great picture as per usual.

Nobody is going to talk that in this part of the game you not only have to defeat Cintia's team but you also have to defeat Giratina, twice and to make it more complicated it has to be followed! I almost jumped off my balcony when I found out 😵
