Rarely seen GTO. This one has been through a body off frame restoration to factory new condition. #s match, documented with original window sticker, pre delivery inspection and glovebox literature.
EXTERIOR: My favorite part is the shaker hood scoop coming through the hood. It is functional, the flapper opens and let's in the fresh air, this was blocked shut on the Trans Ams. Rare Denver gold, looks better then it did when it was new. Has a clear coat that's been polished to a wet glossy finish. Body is absolutely straight and panels fit square and flush. No bubbles, cracks or issues at all that I found. New GTO stripes really pop. The bumpers have been rechromed. Windshield is new. I like the honeycomb grilles with 67 style turn signals. The Rally ll wheels have been restored and have reproduction Firestone Wide Oval tires. The jambs have been repainted glossy, new weather strips and window seals.
INTERIOR: I'm sitting in the car right now and it's about as close to new as they get. The cushions are nice and firm, the upholstery is mint. Door panels are restored, new window cranks. Overhead the headliner, visors, mirror look new and the dome light works. Dash area is mint. Machine turned trim is bright, lenses are clear, heater controls and dash pad are like new. Ashtray is clean, has correct cigarette lighter. The 3 spoke cushion grip steering wheel is mint. There's a retro stereo in the factory hole and 6x9 speakers in back with factory grills. The only custom feature is a neatly installed set of Sunpro gauges and mini tachometer.
ENGINE COMPARTMENT: Has VIN number match 350 that put out more horsepower than the Trans Am 400. The entire compartment is detailed like factory new. The engine has a very clean coat of Pontiac aqua paint. The shaker hood is complete and functional. Everything is neat and clean. Hoses, wiring, fan shroud, windshield squirters are all proper. All the painted finishes are smooth. It also has power steering and power brakes.

Wow! What a BEAUTY! I own a 1974 Pontiac Ventura Custom GTO since 1979! I had it restored & repainted in 2012 in it's original GM Code 40, Fernmist Green, but I personalised it a little: tires, Keystone Klassics, radio & speaker system, Magnaflow mufflers, and I changed the side stripes, and finally I had the Tailights customized into LED Sequential tailights! Thanks to Ebay I was able to find many parts. Wish I could post a picture here. Next year is it's 50th Anniversary! Keep Pontiacs ALIVE! JG... (Bx, NY)

Gorgeous! Bought mine in 1978….over time decided to ::ahem:: correct the performance deficits 😁. Still cruising and showing my Pro Streeter…but SO many memories from almost 50 years with my 74 GTO! Amazing to see one so perfectly stock though!

They only made a little over 7,000 of these, so yeah....getting more rare with each year that goes by. Honestly I've never been a big fan of the 74 and certainly not the horrendous 73, but dang Jay! After seeing this one I find myself second guessing how I feel about the 74! Nice ride as usual. I swear you guys could make an AMC Pacer feel worthy. Keep up then great work and thanks for putting us back in touch with the American muscle of the past!

We all recall our Driver Ed car-mine was a '73 Pontiac Ventura. Vanilla white, tan vinyl bench seats with a 6 cyl and 2 speed automatic. Perfect learner car as it could not get out of its own way. 55 MPH was asking a lot of that motor vehicle.

My father had a bunch of gto's growing up including a brand new 1974 gto. He loved it for two days then the shifter kept coming out in his hands when he went to shift. Factory actually bought it back and apologized to him.

The 74 GTO WAS underrated. It's a car for the time. 350 a great engine stock or modified.

1973 to 74 was when I couldn't believe how ugly these cars became. It was like the death of the beautiful muscle car. I wouldn't look twice at any car after 72. Now I would probably drool over that car because it is such a breath of fresh air compared to the crap that's made today. Haven't seen a 74 GTO in a long time.

throw a 1970 front and rear bumper on that and it would be a different look.

And the automatic on the column to boot. And with that, government mandated 5mph oversized bumpers making for one ugly Nova clone. Still.. a nice big block Pontiac though.

All it needs are a few upgrades. Throw in a cam - a forged crank - high flow heads - aluminum intake - headers (maybe some sidepipes) and you'll have yourself a real street machine.

I used to have a 74 Gto, 4 speed on the floor, white bucket seats and painted red. I loved that car. Sad part was it was only 200 hp. from factory, with NO possible engine upgrades. That one there looks like Gm just gave up on it.

I've owned 2 GTO's 65 and 66 with a 400HO 4-speed the motor i bought at a junk yard was out of a 1968 Firebird Formula for $250.00 with 60k miles on it. Yes, that's what i installed in the 66 GTO Also had owned a 67 Firebird an 83 Firebird a 76 Firebird and one 89 Trans AM loved them all. other than the 89 T/A with the small block gm v-8. GM as we know did away with the PMD/ Pontiac cars dumb on their part. I never see any GTO a column shift automatic? I may be wrong if I'm please do let me know as i never owned or see many of the 74 GTO's. Old Combat Vet from 1879

So this has all the options. It is also a custom as indicated on the side. There is chrome around the windows and the bottom doors also. The plain version would be the same paint all around. There is a passenger sport mirror, which is also an upgrade from the regular chrome version. Even the optional bumper guards on the front and back. Even the paint stripes on the side. It seems all the options were ordered. It even has a clock on the right side of the odometer, which usually is left blank. I don't get why he doesn't have a better am fm radio though. Looks like he wanted the cheapest radio around. Also, why not order it with air conditioning. Whoever had this left out two of the most enjoyable and comfortable options that most people want. It looks odd without having the four vents inside, which you would get with air conditioning. It just seems weird to leave those two things out and order every other option available.

I bought this car a little over two years ago right before Covid hit. Jay lied, the car had sat for a while all the rubber hoses , o-rings, brake hoses were all dry rotted, the bias tires had to be replaced, but who would want them anyway. The window felt and rubber and trunk seals had to be replaced. I put about $5400 in it to make it road safe. That being said , I bought it for $28,000 . It was appraised at $42,000 All verified by PHS as authentic and at the Pontiac Nationals in Norwalk, Ohio It took home a first place trophy in stock class.

This is pretty much the only car from 1974 that could _almost_ be considered "cool". There was this, the Duster and the Vega. The Lemans with that cattle cutter hood wasn't terrible, but wasn't exactly "cool" either. The 74 Chevy Cheyenne and K5 were kinda mean looking though! Am I missing any other cool (or _almost_ cool) ones from 1974?

@danc99 2 жыл бұрын
@@robertrobinson1111 The 74 GTO 350 has 200 HP, not 150, it was specific to the 1974 GTO. Also, there is no such thing as a Pontiac "big block". Pontiac engines from 326 thru 455 all had the same size block, just the bore and stroke were different and most of the engine parts are interchangeable. Pontiacs were not Chevy's or Fords with big blocks and small block V8s.
