as no current flows through balance wires, it should not matter if you leave full length wires or cut them to suit the route

But they do read voltage, which technically can be affected by resistance - it's a topic of debate amongst battery builders...

I cut them to length. Measured the resistance the change is so small there is really no voltage drop difference. Maybe 1mV from longest wire to shortest. So I do them neat, less chance for shorts and looks pretty.

No, but all checked to be within 0.05v of each other and balanced ice assembled into a pack :)
