Great work brother! That’s an awesome way to check mechanical workings or the injector. Obviously this would have been seen with an amp clamp, (since the control wire was corroded) but being able to “see” the drop is definitely a great approach as well.

really interesting way doing it. i would have probably went to the pcm or opened up a loom for the sync which would have shown the electrical problem. however i understand the intent of the video. makes one stop to think what and how else does a person use the tools at hand. great to see a company making an investment in their techs by supplying them the tools to do the job efficiently.

Easy peezy.... great explanation Pj! Attenuator, BTW for those that don't know, protects the Pico/scope against too much voltage. The Pico is protected internally to only about 70vDC? Give or take. Might be 75VDC.
@VoltageDropDiagnostics
@VoltageDropDiagnostics 5 жыл бұрын
Thanks Cuba! And thanks for explaining the attenuator! I THINK this scope is good for 100 volts, but still. Injectors fire over 100 volts so it would still burn it up without an attenuator lol

I can appreciate your video to help out new transducer users. This test is actually very old. make yourself up a shorter hose setup and try with a very short hose as possible and see the difference, there are pros and cons depending on the purpose of the test. Imagine older vehicles where the MAP sensor was mounted to the firewall and had a vacuum hose going to it, now MAP sensors are mounted directly to the manifold, this is the reasoning I am referring to with hose length and vacuum/pressure wave speed and smoothing/muffling/reverberating/feedback actions inside the hose of longer length. Thanks for the video.

I just have a question...Is it possible to clean the fuel injector without being removed with some fuel injector cleaner. Which would be a good brand to buy.? In case the problem are the injectors. I got no issues with fuel injectors so I just want to know if I can use some brand in particular that is going to work ok.
@VoltageDropDiagnostics
@VoltageDropDiagnostics 4 жыл бұрын
There are companies that sell fuel injector cleaners that you add to your fuel. A lot of people swear by BG 44k but i can’t comment on how well it does, or doesn’t work. I do know that i haven’t been able to clean an injector that already has low flow, to make it flow as good as new.

I have a couple questions for you. 1. Do you think the Diagon is worth it for a dealer tech with my own tech stream lite? 2. What do you suggest for terminal removal tools?
@VoltageDropDiagnostics
@VoltageDropDiagnostics 4 жыл бұрын
hmm. That's a tough question. Do most dealer techs need the diagun? Probably not. I do a lot of diag not just on toyotas, but also non toyotas. So I use it pretty regularly. Plus, it is wireless, so I use it over techstream anytime I am under the hood, or underneath the vehicle doing active tests with it. With that said. Is it "NEEDED" for a dealer tech? For most, no. As far as terminal removal tools. I honestly, usually just use a tiny T pin lol. So I don't have much experience with many on the market and I don't want to steer you towards a bad purchase.

that wire looks to me like the current load on that wire is too high. are you sure this isn't a case of a shorted injector coil? considering the work to get the intake off I would just replace the injector and not take the chance that there was a reason the wire look like that. I hope at the end of this video you showed testing the current ramp on that injector.
