Did Voltron four times last week for the first time and its an absolutely world-class experience. The coaster itself is insane. The inversions and launches, hang time and all the other elements are completely overwhelming as a single experience. Add to that the queue with all the theming, the story around Nikola Telsa and crazy stuff like the Tesla coils on the ceiling of the building, are all amazing. Looks like Europapark finally has its unique signature attraction. If it wasnt already one, if not the best themepark in the world, with Voltron it truly is.

I think something like Voltron would make a wonderful addition to AT an intense, airtime centric, launched thrill coaster as a replacement for Rita. Voltron would really complement Thirteen in dark Forrest if themed correctly, and it has the throughput towers need.
@Haazza7 ай бұрын
It would be a great fit but the gp would think its too similar to the smiler especially with the seating configuration, i think an extreme spinner would be a better fit and then when the time finally comes to remove spinball whizzer they can get something like a vekoma suspended family coaster
@joshuawells48427 ай бұрын
@@Haazza all good indisputable points. A Mack extreme spinner in the U.K. just seems too good to be true! I think the ideal scenario would be if they removed Rita and replaced it with a Mack extreme spinner. Then remove spinball and replace with an RMC wild moose model! It would fit perfectly in the footprint and give another family thrill.
@chrisogrady287 ай бұрын
AT needs something with airtime, there are only a few decent airtime moments in the whole park, smiler 2nd half dip down, oblivion drop in back row, and a couple of pops on wicker but only in the very back. There's not a single airtime centric ride. A B&M hyper would be best but obviously they can't do that at alton, but a smaller RMC like Untamed would fit, or a Chance hyper GTX like Lightning Run
@ThemeParkWorldwide7 ай бұрын

@@ThemeParkWorldwide it's interesting how these things shape how new enthusiasts grow up, my boyfriend for example grew up mainly with AT and now always looks for positive G on new rides, as all his early experience was on Nemesis and then Smiler. When I took him to Icon he wasn't as impressed by the airtime and flow as it didn't have those positive Gs. I think all parks should aim to have a variety of forces and elements across the park to give people that varied experience

I think it’s fair to cut them some slack with that sponsorship car. The amount of theming and detail gone into that ride they no doubt required some very heavy subsidisation in order to realise that. I mean that is a Disney and Universal level build - it’s hugely impressive. Just the queue features and load building alone must have taken a significant budget.
@dete1barne7 ай бұрын
I don't like the sponsoring in EP. But I'll take that any time because EP cares so much for the customer experience. They often run all trains on mid busy days, never have i experienced a day where i felt they keep me waiting in line on purpose. In other parks they'll try to sell you fast passes. (Full days have to be avoided as in every park). But still Sponsoring is meh
@deloron88137 ай бұрын
PHL managed to have better theming with Klugheim and Rookburgh without relying on sponsors. If they can do it, EP can do it too

The Europa-Park is not a publicly traded company and has to finance its investments itself. Therefore, Europa-Park often relies on sponsorship.

i don't even know the numbers, but europa park is probably doing very well in terms of money. they have the main park, the hotels, water park, mack attractions. and all of it is running really well. they also making money with food and merchandise. it's a money printer and they don't have to pay out money to share holders and stuff. i doubt they need the sponsors. but of course, they can do it if they want to and it's not that big of a deal. but i really doubt they need it.

I’m so glad you had a better ride the second time round! I was concerned in your previous vlog, hearing it was rougher than a Gerstlauer 😂 Very strange to be allowing people to ride on trains with no suspension but I suppose they were thinking from a throughput perspective! Glad you both had a great time! I’ve never been to Europa Park but hoping to get down there at some point this year or in 2025 🤞🏻
@dete1barne7 ай бұрын
It's not no suspension. It's not perfectly set up suspension. Modern coaster cars use springs and stuff to keep all three wheels in contact with the track. Could be minimal changes that make a huge difference. For example the gerstlauer train Karacho in Tripsdrill is set up in a way that its slightly of centered to account for the launch track. They had to come up with this idea. But since a lot of people say its one of the smoothest launched gerstlauers.

It's strange that quite a few people have reported that certain trains are much rougher than others, wonder how quick they'll be to fix the suspension. Would be a shame for someone's only experience of this ride to be a rough one.
@rainerblitzknall49567 ай бұрын
As far as I know, Mack has not yet decided on a final configuration of some components of the trains and is currently testing different systems and settings. This would explain the different driving behavior of the trains and would also mean that the roller coaster should be smoother and more consistent in the future.
@dete1barne7 ай бұрын
And additionally bear in mind the preferred setup has to be slightly changed on each specific train. Shouldn't take a long i guess.

I don't know, but they're actively working on it. From what I've heard from a friend who works at europa. The train that rolled back on Thursday, apparently it happened because of a change they made trying to solve the issue. so shouldn't take long.

Nice vlog, really enjoyed and always look forward to the next. Think could do aswell with closing up the turntable section, making it an indoor scene, with voice over, liked it when it goes backwards better I think around turntable? If it goes backwards, stops and launches you backwards, that would be better ride experience? Or if not? Keep it forwards? Then launch forwards? But nice new addition, love the station setting, at one point thought in the background I saw Richard Hammond lol, especially as he has crashed the Rimac on Grand Tour? Yeah I don't think he really does like that car after that? Not sure about car being central to land where it is, think maybe it could go hanging above somewhere, be themed around a dark ride or racing car coaster of some sorts, but it just being in the area doesn't honestly make sense? But nice vlog, enjoyed and now going to watch Europa Park Day One vlog. Cheers. 😀👍

I had two rides on it last week and they were completely different. The first was during the morning and it was a great ride. I loved it. I really did, Sadly the second ride was on my last day, which was without doubt the busiest day I have ever seen at the park. Crazy queue times all days but luckily I got a virtual line ride just before the park closed at 8 o`clock so it was a near night ride. Unfortunately it was an outside seat on one of the bad cars and it was horrible. I got off with a banging headache which lasted all night meaning I was awake half the night. They really do have to sort those cars out asap. It must be really disappointing for people who have queued for 2 hours and find they are in a train giving such an uncomfortable ride on what is a great coaster.

I think that they have to use the 2 rough trains. It seems impossible to operate Voltron Nevera with only 4 trains at its opening day 😅😅

Oooh so I guessI shouldn't be too upset about seeing what happens right before launch since the queue will show you if you're watching the shutters! (Which I would be) Thanks for the full-rounded video coverage! Very much appreciated! And as always, love the positive vibes

I haven’t bought theme park worldwide merchandise but I’m thinking about buying their merchandise. If I did meet Shawn and Charlotte at a theme park I would love it even more if I happened to be wearing a t shirt with the theme park worldwide logo on it. It would make it even more special

I guess they had to make a call on whether to run the janky trains and risk complaints about comfort, or not run them and risk complaints about queue times. Obviously the best option would have been to fit the suspension, but clearly that wasn't possible in time.

Definitely. I’m sure it was a difficult decision for them to make!
