Wrio is actually insanely popular - I think he ranked in the top 10 of the most popular male characters in Japan, or something? But by lord did he have an unfortunate debut. Sandwiched between two extremely hyped and wanted characters, being the literal archon and dragon sovereign of his region, belonging to an element that is currently underperforming because of the dev's enemy and abyss choices, capitalizing off of a reaction that's quite good, but has a severe problem with off-field enablers, locking him into very specific team comps with very specific characters... Not to mention Hoyo's refusal to rerun cryo characters. Shenhe hasn't been seen for years despite getting a skin, Wrio didn't get his first rerun yet, even Charlotte disappeared - and she's a 4*, they could've easily slapped her onto a banner... but they didn't. They're just completely ignoring cryo characters after release it seems. At this point I seriously believe we have to wait until the Tsaritsa releases to finally be able to see cryo charactes' actual potential... or just to see their rerun banners to begin with... :'') Here's hoping Mauvika can be a consistent and relatively flexible off-field pyro DPS, and then we'll see a lot more options for characters like Wrio... :')

As a wrio main i suggest you should try using burn melt Ricelee! Wrio, Bennett, nahida and thoma is my go to to for my wrio. Melts are almost always consistent, you have maximum survivability and you get big big damage :] currently have 111 wishes saving for his c1!

If you main him, C2 is pretty good too, fyi. Higher DMG burst helps clearing mobs from range without having to walk up to them.

"Most hated"? Maybe in the west, sure, but in terms of fan content and general love for the character design, he's extremely well-loved in Asia. With him being the most built Genshin playable character (and I'm not talking about artifacts 👀) as well as his chill personality and his JP voice actor being the ever-popular Daisuke Ono, he has no shortage of fans over here 😂

he is definitely not a hated character, let alone 'MOST' hated. he just hasn't had a rerun, and that's just mihoyo's unfair treatment of cryo characters. he has a cool playstyle and design wise he's great too. im sure if he had a more fortunate placing during his debut, he would have been owned by many players

Wriothesley is my favourite genshin character of all time, and I consider him one of my two mains (him and Yae Miko), so it kind of hurts my soul that he's so hated 😔 his kit is really easy to use on mobile. I actually tested him on my phone, found him really funny to play, which immediately told me I would LOVE playing him on controller. I was correct. He's such a fun character to play, but because he was released right in between two of, objectively, the best units in the whole game (Neuvilette and Furina), no one wanted to get him. Especially because a lot of people who don't have wriothesley think he is unusable without his C1. His C1 is amazing, but he is extremely usable at C0. That said, I do have his weapon so I don't know if his damage would be worse without it. But with the right stats, you can make any character work. That said, again, I also wasn't playing when Neuvilette was released, nor when Furina was released. And I wasn't even playing properly when Wriothesley was released, I just hopped on to get him because I liked his design and wanted to see his kit. I wasn't too interested in getting Furina when she was released, so I wasn't arsed about not getting her... Very very slightly regretting that decision, but we move. And I don't like Neuvilette's kit... Nor do I like his design too much. But I feel like me saying this always circles back to the fact that I am a Yae Miko main, and I actively like her kit. Also Wriothesley is hot. So...

Wrio is definitely my favourite character in genshin, of all time. It isn't even close, I literally quit the game for two years after inazuma basically. I only returned, when I saw his trailer. Wrio is the only reason I actually returned to this game, I wouldn't have. If I didn't see his trailer. I got him to C1 R1, because I liked him that much. I probably spent like $500 on him admittedly, haha. I also got venti in that patch, because venti was a character I'd wanted since launch. Then in the next patch I pulled furina. I don't really pull often, admittedly. I only pull if I really like a design. Which is why I basically quit in inazuma and sumeru, I just didn't like a lot of the characters at that point. But ever since Fontaine, I've been really liking the designs and even came to appreciate a few older ones. Namely alhaitham

I don't see how he is the most hated character tbh... He and Neuvillette are my most favorite genshin characters, not only in Fontaine. I got him and his weapon during his first banner and now I have 600+ pulls for as much of his cons as I will be able to get. I have my Neuvi at c4 (I'm on my way to his c6) and I will have Wrio at at least c3. My beautiful boys

Wrio day one main here, C0R1. I usually play him in burnmelt or now that I got Xilonen, the other two team members are usually Thoma C6 and Bennett C6. He's crazy good my highest dmg with him was 87k on a melt CA. Don't regret skipping Neuvi for him one bit😊

wriothesley literally got the most fun and engaging combat that can compete only with kinich, really. somehow I hadn't gotten tired of using wrio since his debut and he's still my very appreciated main, I play him with furina baizhu (bc his skill healing doesn't interrupt trio's combos) and for now kachina. will wait for shenhe to grab finally to try the most pleasant team archetype - mono cryo. I like snow I guess lol. also waiting for mavuika and a speculated girl who might be pyro because xianben are so bad with wrio they kinda are irrelevant
