The way the crater somehow stopped exactly at shipping and receiving so that sips's stockroom was intact but contained an endless void. It really was a landmark piece of content for the Yogscast. And I can't imagine they seriously considered not releasing the footage just because Duncan was salty. That would've been a tragedy. As content creators you always put content first before something like I guess video game progress?
@jonasquinn79773 жыл бұрын
@@panner11 the issues isn’t that Duncan was mad about the footage it’s that he was, justifiably, angry at the time that his, Lewis and Simons work was undone and the entire series put in jeopardy because the other team was too lazy to mine and cheated And footage where one person is very clearly infuriated by the others tends to make for quite awkward viewing
@SmokeyEdits3 жыл бұрын
@@jonasquinn7977 Also worth noting that when it comes to things like this, they ARE actually friends, so if they had a real argument going (like in Space Engineers as Lewis refers to in this video) it would be awkward for them and likely put a strain on their friendship. Putting myself in Dunc's shoes for a moment, I'd be quite upset that my own emotions were set aside for internet luls on KZbin. Of course, there's always a lot of variables that play into a situation like this, so it really is a fine line between respecting the emotions and wishes of your friends and potentially putting your entire organization into jeopardy.

There were several reasons for why it became more difficult to continue, but Lewis talks about one big one here: kzbin.info/www/bejne/e4XHnZl9aNNpfJo TL:DR: They wanted to get an animatic done to start episode 43, but the animator either stopped responding or they weren't happy with how it was going, leading to SoI being put on hold, things kept being postponed, there was a potential server crash that damaged the world (this one may not be true, but it gets repeated a lot), several people who were (at the time) integral to making SoI either left or were kicked out of the Yogs for various reasons, and suddenly it was like 8 years later and streaming isn't really about story-based series like SoI anymore.

@@Joseph-uo3mx link got removed, so here's a copy pasted version of a reddit thread titled "Sjin Megathread" from u/venabl Hey everyone, consolidating all this into one post. The last big post discussing this linked to a tweet by a Yog and it unintentionally funneled a lot of hate directly into the mentions of said Yog. The OP of that thread deleted the thread themselves after being asked to do so by the Yogscast directly. The post was related to Sjin, who has made an unwelcome return to KZbin. Posts exclusively about former Yogs are banned, this post is an exception. Since we already allowed discussion to start, you can continue here. Lewis's comment in the previous thread, here: Just wanted to clarify and reinforce our stance (which has not changed in the last two years). Sjin took advantage of his position to emotionally manipulate and sexually harass members of our community and our friends. These actions are reprehensible and he is not welcome in our communities. I would ask folks to be respectful of this and remain sensitive to other Yogscast creators, many of whom will not want to discuss him or be reminded of his content. We’re always striving to make the Yogscast stronger and safer for everyone and I hope that you agree that this is a community we can feel proud to be a part of. Frequently Asked Questions: Q: Is Sjin innocent? Is Sjin back in the Yogscast? Is Sjin friends with any of the Yogscast again? Am I allowed to talk about him on this subreddit? A: No to all. Q: Why are there still Yogscast channels under his "Channels" tab? A: Because he hasn't changed it, on purpose or accidentally. Anyone (you as well) can put whatever channels they want in there. But I'd be surprised if it won't be fixed soon. Q: Is it a reupload? Why is he uploading? A: It's not a reupload - it's a new video, and only he knows why he's decided to try to come back to KZbin. Q: I have an opinion and I want to post it. A: That's not a question. Also, leave your thoughts in this thread, don't create a new one. It will be removed. We don't allow posts exclusively about former Yogscast members after they've left for more than a month. This is consistent with how we've handled departures since Strippin in 2015. Recap In case you missed or forgot what happened to Sjin, a summary: Lewis confirming Sjin was removed after an independent investigation into allegations of ongoing (5y+) grooming and sexual harassment: "It’s clear to me that Sjin has breached our code of conduct and after discussing this with him he has decided to take an extended break and will be leaving the Yogscast network." source Sjin confirming the allegations were true: "I’ve come to realise this behaviour might not be considered appropriate by everybody." source Bouphe giving her side about former members' behaviour towards her: "Aggressive flirting, trying to get me to send pics, sending pics, trying to get me to go places and do stuff, not taking NO for an answer, asking me to delete correspondence." source Gee giving her side about former members' behaviour towards her: "Lewis was unaware of the actions concerning Turps and Sjin when it came to specific members in the network such as myself and Bouphe, as I never said anything to Lewis. I don't hold Lewis responsible for something he never knew about. I never wanted Bouphe to feel alone in her struggle so I'm glad she was able to find the strength to say something, because it gave me that same strength to speak up and ultimately tell Lewis my experience." source There have been a lot of allegations (some public, some private). The ones included here are only by the Yogs. Just remember that an independent investigation has shown him as guilty enough for Lewis and all of the other Yogs to sever ties with their long-standing close (former) friend. Here's a thread by Tom: "Discovering truths about coworkers and especially Sjin who I had considered a close friend. (...) At the time and in the months that followed, because of the friendship that we had, I felt it was my duty to try to help him, for his safety and everyone else. I personally believed this was the moral thing to do despite being disgusted by his actions." source With Harry's opinion in the comments of the previous thread: "I do not support Sjin, Caff and Turps actions and with even more stories coming out this week I am again shocked and disgusted. I support Bouphe and Gee both publicly and privately, and everyone who has come forward. (...) I did not remain ‘friends’, I do not support his actions and I hope he changes. And I make no plan to ever see or talk to him again." source

@@gregorB92 I've been watching since they released Planetoids on the main channel. I was a big fan of both Turps and Sjin before they were let go (Caff can suck it tho). I would still rather have the new folks like Tom and Spiff than them, even setting aside their misconduct.

It really sucks that sjin had to turn out the way he did when he was such an integral part of yogscast history, especially when it comes to their long-running jokes like the red matter bomb. I can't imagine what it was like for lewis trying to talk about this and avoiding mentioning him at all.

He was Israphel after all, the core character who made the initial series work. But hey we can at least say this... At least he was not Raedwulf.. Yeah that guy was way worse.

@@donb7519 From what I gather, Raedwulf was not in the Yogscast but just another content creator that was accused of sex crimes, in that case (again from the limited research I've done) they were actually charged and arrested for attempting to create CSAM. As for Turps, Caff, and Sjin, they all were accused in the same period of sexual misconduct internally, and trying to abuse their position of power to hook up with fans. To my knowledge, none of these accusations resulted in criminal charges, and no hard evidence was released publicly, although some fairly damning DM chains were released by the accusers, I doubt any of it would be enough for criminal charges. In Sjin's case specifically as I recall, some of the accusers claimed to be under 18 when Sjin approached them, although this was never publicly proven to my knowledge. In reality we likely won't ever know which of the three was "worse", just that they all did some pretty shady shit when given the power to do so.
