H, the height of the partition parallel to the axis of rotation, should be subtracted by top-bottom, not right-left. Right-left is for when the axis of rotation is horizontal, as the partition will be laying down instead of standing up.

The conditions seen in the video is right - left. Right (axis) minus left (x)

With the shell method and when you are finding the radius of the shell, if the functions are in terms of x (as seen in the video), then it is right - left. If the function is in terms of y (such as x=y^2 + 2), then it will be top - bottom axis
