Not suprised that you've volunteered twice, you are seriously the sweetest person. And this certainly opened up my eyes to possibly do something like this after uni!! x

thanks for the video, really informational, I find it pretty crazy that you have to pay for everything including accommodation and food when doing a ton of work for others as a volunteer. 500 quids a month is like someones salary here in Hungary.

Aww that sound like me when I got sick in DR . I think you’ve gotten food poisoning. Because your symptoms sounded like mine. When I ate something and got food poisoning from a parasite in DR 🦠. Because I was really sick for a few days. Throwing up, intense diarrhea, I couldn’t keep water down either and my stomach had horrible stabbing cramping.

I'm going to France for one year-long volunteer project. You could say I'm nervy because... Well because that's a whole year and I'm thinking what if it's not good, what if I don't like it? But then again I know everything will be alright, I'm just used to overthinking. I'm gonna be working with migrants and nature and I'm actually very excited and enthusiastic. But I'm also nervous, hahaha.

This was a great video and super interesting! How did you decide which countries you wanted to volunteer in?
@lucille68886 жыл бұрын
Thanks so much! 😊 I just read uo about each project on the Original Volunteers Website. Quite a lot of them were volunteering in Schools and helping to teach English, but I knew that the main area of volunteering I wanted to do was in orphanages and with children who have special needs. I liked the sound of the Peru Project because it was based in an orphange and also the Morocco project involved volunteering in orphanages too but you could also volunteer with children who have special needs and who have down syndrome. 👍

Ahh cool. I just went to Indonesia and participated in a week long home stay (with a hole in the ground as a toilet) they were very poor and i barely ate. It was also freezing in the mountains. But im SO glad I did It! I want to do the Morocco one! Also did you have to pay for this or raise money beforehand
@lucille68886 жыл бұрын
Oh wow - that sounds like a tough experience but I hope you still enjoyed it. Xxx In some of the areas that I volunteered in Morocco, there was just a hole in the ground as a toilet - they were very poor too 😔 Yeah you have to pay for everything yourself (I set up a just giving page and some of my friends and family made donations. I raised about £100 and that helped to pay for the toys and crafts that I brought over for the children. The rest I payed for by myself!) 😊👍

Hi Lucille! after watching your Vlogs of volunteering abroad I decided to book Morroco for July 2018! I’m just wondering, did they have strict dress code there due to it being a Muslim country?? What kind of clothing did you pack? Thankyou so much! :)
@lucille68886 жыл бұрын
Oh my gosh - that’s amazing!!!! You’re going to enjoy it so so much! I packed long, loose flowy trousers and I just wore t-shirts with them. I was a bit hesitant about wearing t-shirts at first because I thought that I wasn’t allowed to show any skin. But when I got there all of the other volunteers were wearing vest tops and shorts or skirts or dresses. So I guess, it’s recommended that you do try and cover up just to be respectful of their culture but I know that sometimes I was dying with the heat and so somedays I would wear a vest top if it was really hot! 😊👍 hope that helps and let me know how you get on! I want to hear all about it when you get back! Xxx 💕

Lucille thank you so much for replying! What I’ve ended up purchasing is basically flowy trousers and vest tops so thank you so much for the help! Can’t wait to go now- And I’m coming to your meet up so I’ll tell you all about my time in Morocco then!❤️Xx

I didn't know that you have to pay to volunteer. Annually yes but for a project... Ridiculous.

No its not. Would you expect to show up, agree to volunteer, then let them feed you and pay for Your accommodation? Volunteering is an experience that can take you , help you get in toed school for me. Its not strange that you would have to pay for that.
