He was so frickin fun to watch! Never got to see him in person so getting to see the band on u tube means a lot to me. Makes me sad watchin Gary cause I know it hard to be hard not have Ronnie to stand by in the slow part then Allen when he starts the solo. You can tell they all loved each other. I know they had fights, mostly when Ronnie drank, he was a mean drunk I guess I don't understand why this happened, I know plan ran out of gas but they were really trying to sober up, they didn't always succeed but they really wanted to do better, they had the 3 guitar army back, Steve was a breath of fresh air, he could play, he could write & he could sang. Street Survivors had just come out. They were better than they had ever been & just 10 min from Baton Rouge they ran out of gas. Still heartbreaking even after all this time.

The Lynyrd Skynyrd band were special guest who appeared in 1979 volunteer jam. I think it was volunteer jam V. They did this version of Freebird with Charlie Daniels playing guitar.
