How to change the timing belt, water pump and auxiliary belt on the bombproof Volvo 2.4 D5 Diesel engine.
Having reached 300k in V70 YES and the timing belt being one of the jobs pushed to the side pre-lockdown it was time to bite the bullet and get the job done. Now the car runs as tight as a (300Nm crankshaft pulley) nut.
I'm aware some people won't like the advice regarding using a windy gun instead of a torque wrench but this is the reality for a lot of people and ultimately any videos on KZbin are opinion based in the making. I've shown both the correct way to do the job and a more affordable way to do the job if necessary.
I also haven't used genuine Volvo parts this time around, I may do next time but as with most individuals and garages these are parts obtained from the locals motor factors. With multiple projects on the go I've had to save some money somewhere this year!
