Volvo 850 rear brake pad replacement part 1, right side

This video shows how to replace the rear brake pads on a 1997 Volvo 850 with ATE calipers.
Parts:
new ATE rear pads, part number ATE-604033 (also listed as ATE 30793802)
new ATE rear brake hardware (spring and pins), part number ATE-610088 (also listed as ATE 272643 )
New stainless steel cut shims, Volvo part number 272272 -- I used the less expensive MTC aftermarket version.
ATE anti-squeak brake grease, part number ATE-700015
After I was done I also topped up the brake fluid reservoir with ATE DOT 4 TYP 200 Brake Fluid, part number ATE BF1200

Great, complete explanations - exactly what I needed. The volvo brake pads are different from the other cars I've worked on, so explaining about the pins was very helpful. Also, on other cars can put the old brake pad against the piston and put a C-clamp around the brake pad and back of caliper body to push the single piston in, but here there are two pistons, so I wasn't sure how to go about it. Your detailed, careful explanation was much appreciated! And, thank you for the part numbers in the description!

Nice video. Just a bit worried that if the fluid is slowly dripping out that perhaps a small amount of air might be 'flowing' in to replace it. But as you say you don't seem to have noticed any getting in. Perhaps good idea to have a hose attached which has the drain end submerged in brake fluid in a glass container would be best way to eliminate the possibility of fluid entering. This is what I do with regular brake bleeding. Did you notice that one of the pads wore more than the other? If so, which wore more? i.e. the inside or outside pad

I only hammer the pins so that the head is flush with the back of the caliper. Yours look almost too far in. ?????
