Great video! Very nice videography! And... I find it great therapy! In this world of short attention spans and habitual multitasking, I love the attention to detail, the close-up shots and the relaxed but oh-so-sharp voiceover. The surroundings did not detract from the content. On the contrary, I loved the flowering bushes and brickwork lending a delightful and dignified reminder of the glory of bygone suburbia, now revitalized by new, younger talent. Has the makings of cult content! 10/10 points :-) All the best, Rob

I like how simple your approach is, not going above what is nessecary to achieve what you want to. Applying just enough cleaner to get the job done, definitely a good way to go about cleaning a not so dirty car.

That weird hairy carpet is the worst at getting stuff stuck in it to the point where it's hard for even a powerful vacuum to pull out. I use a moderately stiff carpet brush to sweep as much debris out of the "pile" as I can into a corner first to vac up which I believe saves me time and frustration.

Just switched from a V50 to a MKIII Focus and am yet to tackle that (dealer actually did a decent job on the interior gasp!) but I can tell you that compared to my wife’s Peugeot, Volvo carpet is a dream to work on. The Peugeot stuff is more like a hairy version of a washing up scouring pad, vacuuming does nothing, brushing does nothing. Key to the Volvo carpet is to do it regularly and not let it accumulate, switch between a crevice tool, brush and upholstery tool and if you have a decent wet/dry vac with a blower function it will help to loosen anything that doesn’t want to be sucked up. Genuine Volvo rubber mats are a must, really good quality and not expensive, I paid £35 for a set of 4 from a dealership.

I don't know why people don't like the so called "fake" leather that Volvo and the German carmakers also use. It always looks good. Looks real, feels real, smells real but lasts way longer than real leather and makes the car look good even after a few years.

Hello, I have a question, because I thought that you couldn't use a dressing product on the dash, because of the evaporation of its oils could reach the glass. So, what kind of dressings should I use? Thank you very much. By the way, excellent video
@CarCleaningGuru7 жыл бұрын
Non-silicone water-based. Ideally you just want to clean the dash but sometimes that can leave it looking too dry and tired.
@Brian-Burke7 жыл бұрын
Awesome! I have a question. Is it better to clean the dash first since it's higher than the seats and cleaning it could potentially throw dirt onto the seats?

You have such a calm and collected voice. I’ve thought about offering what’s called a Panel Remove Clean. Remove the sill plates, remove the seats, any panel that easily comes off or out and of course this would be at a premium but what are your thoughts? Given that I also own a Car Audio shop we are very familiar with removing panels and such.

I do that with new purchases, remove panels and clean inbetween. Sometimes there's lots of dust behind a panel but small gaps collect a lot of hard to reach filth too

Great video, love the detail and the effort you make to show us each element. Do you use a standard household vacuum? Noticed that the upolstery brush was much less stiff bristled than the ones you usually get with home vacs. You also inspire confidence, I get nervous about applying too much cleaner to seats, buttons and those little screens in the dash. Finally have to agree that carpet may last but looks more like it should be a boot mat than in the cabin. Ttanks for sharing
