Volvo C40 Recharge wool blend interior

I have owned a XC60 with wool seats for a year now and absolutely love these seats. They make the interior looks so bright and classy. They are essentially sports seats which gives me better support than the leather seats. Although on a couple hot days I wish I have the ventilating function, but on winter days they have the warmth that leather seat just can't offer. After a year and 13,000 miles of driving, the seats are still holding up. It has shown a little wear/fuzz on the fabric mostly on the bottom cushion and thigh extension, but nothing major and you have to look very closely to spot it out. It's just like a wool sweater you have worn or a couch you have used for a year. There are no creases at all like the leather seats after one month of use. Overall I'm very satisfied with the quality of the seats and plan to keep the car for as long as I can.

Hello Thom 🙂 I got my Volvo C40 Twin Ultimate 3 weeks ago, with this exact interior. As a user, I can confirm that this fabric is super comfortable and reinforced the cozy sensation in the cabin . I also did a road trip, from Austria to Sweden, apart from the fact this trip was quite the journey with an electric car, those seats are super comfortable. And I didn't experience any back pain or sore muscles from driving that long. Even tho I'm 1.95m tall So yes, if you're about to buy a C40 or XC40 and want to stand out, you should definitely go for this trim 🙂

Hi Thom. I got my brand new C40 with the tailored wool interior trim, too, and I like it a lot. The material touch is perfect and it makes the cabin a bit more spacious. The Orrefors crystal glass shifter is awesome, particularly when it is lighted in the dark.

I have the C40 Ultimate with these seats now for almost 6 months. They are beautiful and comfortable. I agree 100% about the lack of bolster support. Only thing I don’t like about the seats. I have had minor pilling on the seat part of the fabric that came off easily with the pilling remover I use on my sweaters. No pilling on the upper portion of the seats. They look amazing against the dark interior. No spills… yet.

Took a chance and got the CX40 with the Microtech seats and love them. My past Volvos all had leather seats. From now on I’ll go with the Microtech.

I have the Tailored Wool option with the C40 I received three months ago. I elected for those seats mainly to brighten the interior and for their warming feel in winter and cooling feel in summer. I have not been disappointed. I do not drive a great deal and never eat in the car, so it's too soon to comment on how the fabric will hold up, but I am confident that will not be a problem. Note that in Canada (and I believe in the US), the wool seats (with crystal shifter) are a no-cost option. They are available with the Plus and Ultimate trims. Though I am only 175cm (5'9") tall, to avoid hitting my head I must bend in a certain way when getting into the driver's seat. While I generally prefer 60-series' sport seats, I wonder if their higher side bolsters would make entering the car more difficult for me.

I've been seriously considering trading out of my lease a little early for a C40 or XC40 Recharge.....maybe even an XC60 Recharge plug-in hybrid,,,, My dealer only has one vehicle in inventory with the wool interior option ( a sage green C40) but nothing else at all....looked at several dealers with in a 100 mile radius and no one has it on their inventory right now. Sad 😢

Tastes differ I guess but for me this garish “crystal” shifter was the deciding reason not to order this interior trim.

It is! You could have the shifter changed for the regular one by the dealership id say. 😅

Volvo is a scam! My 2023 Volvo C40 has a steering wheel that vibrates very badly, making it quite annoying and UNSAFE to drive, and Volvo doesn’t want to fix it.
