Rick, this one is a head scratcher...but, I'm gonna give my theories...1) They installed the curb in order to lessen the water runoff that is causing erosion on that VERY steep side slope (cameras don't do slopes justice). This guy hit at a steep angle to the guardrail, the curb launched him high, allowing him to get on top of the plate beam which put downward pressure (not designed for this) on the beam and sheared the metal plate (it did not break at a joint, it tore) while taking out wood posts that had already been partially compromised by eroded soil. 2) Same scenario, but front tire dropped behind the curb after initial impact and leveraged the energy against the guardrail and the weak point was the eroded soil around the posts. Or, as Rowdy Wheeler shouted across the bar, as I was telling the hostess my theories, "I use my jake brake as an alarm clock!!"

If they can't take care of your equipment then find them an older wrecker and hire a new hand so he can take care of it. Most folks have the opinion "it's not mine so what" and that is irritating!! Great job y'all!!! Be safe and God Bless y'all!!!!!

That would make a cool video, touring GCRR locomotives. There used to be a trucking outfit in Tucson that the owner made all the drivers clean and wax the trucks when they had idle time, they always had clean shiny rigs, maybe your guys could do the same with those expensive wreckers!!!😉
