Can you turn off features like the auto steer? I appreciate all the features but I prefer to be in control of the car myself..

Exactly, I don't like the auto braking or steering at all! What happens if it malfunctions and causes a wreck, who's responsible for that Volvo, I doubt it!

I hear Volvo will be launching a new model soon, dubbed the V-NANNY. No longer will drivers have the ability to choose for themselves how their car performs. Volvo has gone from a company that made great strides in introducing passive, AND active safety systems, to a company that now installs PRO-ACTIVE measures to diminish the visceral enjoyment of driving, and pushing your car to it's limits, and becoming one with your machine. Presumably, there will be syringes filled with adrenaline, in a dedicated compartment for drivers who want to feel the rush they would have had, before Volvo became all 'authoritarian' just like the government of their Chinese owners. Or perhaps, DRIVERS will just choose a different brand.

Yeah I still like Volvo's for their luxury and good crash ratings but am worried about the privacy. They're putting limits on speeds and installing cameras within the cabin to spy on us, I think they're taking safety to the extremes. As long as if and when I do crash , I don't die I think I'll be fine. They're crossing the line in my opinion.
