Filmed in Serbia in a closed-off gravel pit filled with obstacles. All the buildings were empty, locked and sealed during the shoot.
The remote control used by Sophie was specially made for this production. Highly sensitive, the compact RC unit provided access to steering, accelerator, gearshift and brakes.

I believe that the truck can survive all this and that this part was real. I just don't believe, that Sophie controlled it. It seemed to be quite precise driving to demonstrate all mentioned featured. So VOLVO please continue making such videos, but don't fake the simplest parts. It would have much bigger impact if you didn't use all "little girl controls it and destroys everything" and just made proper test with all the destruction.

+GothaRsk For example in crate test they crashed into reinforced corner of the truck and to demonstrate how strong its undercarriage they skidded the truck over a concrete barrier. So yeah, the girl wasn't driving it.

+snois2 Yes. This is the only way these desperate companies can gain any form of attention from their absurd and pointless marketing. Back in the past when they were not being colossally ridiculous, they would make a simple product demonstration video and distribute it to their potential customers. I am not going to buy this truck or any of their other vehicles, which in my opinion are inferior to other more fuel efficient market choices. This is how insidious and evil these people are though, purposely faking things to stir up "controversy" so that people will actually talk about it rather than just outright ignore it. See how much energy I have just devoted to this? Outrageous.

It's actually a safety feature. In the event a driver loses consciousness, a safety officer can shutdown the engine. I guess it could work if the driver lost something other than consciousness.
