I know this is a year old but to check the oil in the dash like how you tried do the following steps. Push the start button for 3 seconds (do not hold the clutch down) this will turn the Eletrics on then push ok and go into the oil menu and it will show you

Hi Greg, some cars are terrible to bleed when changing the fuel filter but a lot of them self bleed just fine. On most vehicles a combination of switching the ignition on and off (activating the lift pump in the tank) and starting and revving does the trick no problem. I hope it works for you too!

Hi, many thanks for this super video. I just bought a late 2018 V40 D2 manual yesterday and having been checking out videos to see if I’m going to do the servicing myself. One quick question. Do you have to remove any underbody covers to get access for the oil drain/filter and the fuel filter? Reason for asking is that I couldn’t see the fuel filter underneath after a quick look. Thanks again, great video! 🚗🍾❤️

I have a question, I own this car for a year, and it keeps spending oil, half of liter per 2000km, I spoke with some people and they say that is common for this d2 engine. What do you think?
@IAMASPANNER
@IAMASPANNER 2 жыл бұрын
0.5-1 litres every 5,000 miles is certainly common but a litre every 2,000 km is pretty excessive. Some engines do use a lot of oil but that’s a bit too much in my opinion.

@IAMASPANNER quick question, I have a Volvo V40 D4 r design 2.0 diesel year 2014 and it also has no dipstick 🤬 had the car just over a year now and like every 6 weeks or so( not sure about how many miles will have to keep an eye on it to see ) it keeps asking for half a litre so give it, thought it might be the oil sensor so got it replaced and it still happening asking for half a litre, so thought I might have an oil leak everytime I park the car for long enough overnight for weeks I would check and no oil on the floor or on the undercarriage no smoke whatsoever from the exhaust so just can't figure out where the oil is going? It's done 1 hundred and 5 thousand miles someone mentioned to me that it could be getting burnt up but how? Why? How to check? It's driving me mad where it's going ( oil ) and this is been happening for 9 months 😡

I don’t disagree but honestly you wouldn’t believe how much oil is left inside the engine on an oil change no matter how long you let it drain. I’ve dismantled engines and with the sump off overnight half a litre will continue to drain out of all the galleries etc. In reality even a full filter housing of dirty oil wouldn’t make any difference.
