Volvo V70 D5 Powerflex Bush Control Arm / Wishbone Installation.
In this video I remove the control arms on a Volvo V70 Mk2 and retrofit some power flex bushes. It wasn't the easiest job I've ever done but I got there!

Allow plenty of time , and best of luck it’s not for the faint hearted. Ratchet straps are essential for the fiddly reassembly of the wishbone in the car.

Amy advice for the getting the new pin bush in? - I've got it in half way until it steps up, but can't seem to hit it in any more? 😅 cheers

I’ve used a hot air gun to expand the aluminium. Oil well then good taps

I'm considering installing these bushings on my 2003 XC70. How do you feel about these bushings having lived with them for a while now? Was it a useful upgrade?

I’m glad I fitted them it firmed the front up no end, the top hats of the non pin bushes are cracking slightly at the brim but it goes through mot fine and still handles well.

Idk how the hell you beat the other bushing in, I'm pretty damn strong and cannot do it. So frustrating. And my modified piping on a press just isn't holding up

I used an interference fit on the bushes to help install them at one stage I got a bush stuck so I just used a heat gun to expand the aluminium, then more persuasive taps!

Yes at the time of fitting they made a huge difference to the vehicle which I now take for granted a few years down the line!

@@gheorghinacov6008 they are for the track so I didn’t bother with them, i am happy with results I got with the road going bushes.

@@TheRepairer Hi there! I just got my wishbone 95a polyurethane rear bushings installed. The only “stiffness” is felt at the steering wheel, as front wheels now respond promptly to steering. Worth installing them for regular roads as well, I confidently recommend it!

Well done, I’m glad you got them installed ok and appreciate your feedback I too felt a noticeable lighter steering post installation.
