@@damos_cars I understand. I guess it felt like you were already pretty annoyed with it before you started. I've just bought the XC40 (yesterday), so it was useful to see someone operating the system who knows their way around it.

@@edwardhawkins8246 Ah cool. Well to be honest you will love it. The longer I used the XC40 the more the annoyances of the infotainment faded away. The niggles are small. Overall it felt like a great car. Enjoy it and congratulations, nice pressie to have for 2021!

What year is this XC40? We test drove a 21 yesterday and it seemed to be up and running right away. If it keeps the system cached like Audi this could explain why we did not have to wait. I found no lag in the sub menus as I played with it.

Many have said their systems are faster. I think this one needed an update. 2018 model.

My 2020 R design Sensus system works perfectly......I suspect the “problems” are down to the user!.

I feel the same way. But you know what makes me frustrating the most the fact that who bought a XC40 T5 my23 doesn't have any chance to upgrade the infotainmet to AAOS neither will get Sensus updates. Other car manufacter wouldn't ever dare to do that.

​@@damos_cars It takes like 1-3 seconds and its fully active (Volvo XC40 MY2020). Even during extreme winter (approx. -20-24 Celcius degrees).

You seem to be very impatient

Not really I'm just used to getting in a car and the radio working straight away without having to wait 20 seconds while it decides to wake up. Some things bring progress, others do not. I'm not a fan of tech and touch screens in cars, I prefer to focus on the task in hand - driving them, without the fuss and distractions these systems bring. Its good it won't let you change lane accidently but then if you weren't so busy fiddling with this system you wouldn't need that...

Yeh, put me off massively from buying one. The key is to always have a modern classic in the garage.
