What I like about Anna is that she takes out the vehicle she is testing regardless of weather conditions. As a Canadian, I appreciate that. We too have to drive our cars in snow, rain, sleet and sometimes all of the above.

Brilliant review Anna. The XC 40 T5 Recharge definitely a stylish car and I got a feeling it will sale well. I got to admit I was kinda shocked when you said it was front-wheel drive as to how well it drove on the snow like that, but then again it shows your amazing driving skills that you got Anna. I like that tried to do 0 to 100, but we all what more Anna on roads. I couldn't believe it when said it was -22c in Poland WOW. You have done awesome job filming and editing. I think Formentor is much better as it is using a tech used on many models in VAG. It should be less error prone.

Really nice vehicle Anna😊 I almost bought the regular T5 a few months ago but finally went with something bigger for my needs. I still think the t5 is the most gorgeous small suv on the market. I am not sure about that small engine tough 🇨🇦🤘🇨🇦

Having the PHEV for 90% city driving and an occasional long distance run this car is great. Our first 1000km we averaged 2.1l/100km, now with almost 2000km on it, consumption has crept up to a staggering 2.4l/100km (a couple of longer drives that has the XC using the petrol motor on the highway) For people with the right circumstances, it's very economical.

Thanks for the nice video Ana! Yes, a LOT of snow in Poland, very impressive. For the car, 2 comments: a) Volvo is one of the few companies that sells a lot of "non-black" interiors (Beige, grey, white, etc..) so i always feel sorry to see a black Volvo interior (I know you like the beige too :) ). b) I definitely can't warm up to the idea of those modern SUVs: Jack of all trades, masters of none. This thing will be lost as soon as the track becomes slightly uneven with a mild slope. On the other hand, if it's to do only asphalt, why not get a regular Sedan? Lower center of gravity (hence less roll), less noise ,better Cx (hence better gas mileage), sleeker design (usually). Well, I really can't find a lot of advantages to such a "pseudo-SUV".. Other than, maybe, a better ability to cross all those bumpers that we find in modern cities. And, how, yes, the comfort to sit in the car without having to drop really low. But hey, i am old but I can still sit in a sport car (and get out of it) without back pain :) . Final comment: I nod my head in disnalgia (yes, it's a new emotion that i invented: Mix of disbelief and nostalgia) when I see "3 cylinders / 262 hp"... Ok,, it's a lot of power. But how does it come out? it will never have the silky-smooth whine of a six-cylinders engine, singing like an Italian soprano. Nor the true grit of a V8, like a King-kong hand grabbing your butt and pushing it forward.... Sorry. Yes, I know... Just me being my usual grumpy old Frenchman who (fully) lived the automobile "Golden era" of the nineties.

These things are better than sedans in a few ways: visibility, accessibility (easier to get in and out of) and cargo capacity (this is similar to a wagon, which north americans at least appear to eschew). Now, that doesn't convince me terribly, as I just bought another sedan and have always owned one, but these are reasons people buy crossovers.

@@patty109109 Thanks for sharing the balanced perspective! Yes, I will vouch for the cargo capacity. As for visibility, I would beg to (partially) disagree: Most of those SUV have a poor rear visibility (usually due to very large C-pillars). Manoeuvers (sp. backwards) are typically much more difficult than with a sedan: just try a parallel parking without parking assist camera or sensors! So, yes, you are "higher" than the other cars. BUT with success building up, since every one has an SUV nowadays, you end up back to square one, and this "altitude advantage" fades out because the car in front has the same height as yours. Except that the poor Sedan driver ends up almost looking at the road UNDERNEATH the other cars :) :). By the way, I own a Mercedes ML, indeed for the cargo space and the practicality. But this is a a real 4x4, with real off-road capabilities. Not a modern SUV which gives up at the very first slope with a bit of cross-axle.

@@ChristophePeytier Yes it's true most seem to have a truck or suv at least around my parts. Therefore if you're in the same you're on even playing field. But, when I drive my sedan I cannot see a damn thing, so I always have to wait until the big barn of metal next to me moves so that I can see oncoming traffic. It's frustrating, but sedans drive so much tighter, which is why I still buy them!

@@patty109109 Precisely! Same here... Always drove sedans or 2-doors. Except that i just bought the ML :) . (I hope Anna doesn't read that because she's so used to me badmouthing the SUVs :D ). But for my defense, now that I moved close to the Pyrénées, I really needed something to go off-road with decent capabilities. And the ML seemed the right choice. But I must confess that ...it drives like a truck... well, it IS a truck! (bolt-on chassis on frame, like the real trucks...hence the 2-ton weight :( )

Volvo are great cars. A lot of safety Features, well built, good materials. Pricing like Mercedes. Fine to me. But the mileages are not state of the art. Mine consumes about 10,5 liters/ 100km as a plug in hybrid. (Volvo XC60) Driving a mix of city, landscaping roads and freeway. The E range is about 32 km. So I do not get the sense of a hybrid car. I think Volvo has to get into a better engineering on this. Other brands do here a lot better on this. But like always, Anna does a perfect honest job on review this car. She is how she is...positive.
