That clever mat in the boot is NOT standard equipment, but an expensive optional extra. I bought an T5 Inscription AWD, so was expecting it to include all the bells and whistles. The central consul ha a major issue being so low. In order not to break the horizontal dashboard when using CarPlay your navigation(Waze for me) displays too low and does not incorporate into the head on display(my Volvo have it). This is so bad I find it as a real safety concern because of the driver having to lower his eyes way down to see the map. One quick fix would be to place the navigation(CarPlay) on the top part of the media panel(not at the bottom) and allocate more space for it. Also as a second phase incorporate the navigation signs into the head on display. Where I live the built in Nav system is useless btw.

Alistair_Senna_Wilson wasn’t because of Fifth Gear. Discovery Networks UK sacked him at the end of his contract in 2018. TIFF is currently on a YT channel called LoveCars as a tester.

The XC40 has gone mad with colour combo choices that are not available for XC60 and XC90. It is very clearly aiming at the younger drivers. I still think that that is a good thing and needed to shift the long lingering “my dad’s car” image which just isn’t who buys these cars anymore.

There are 6 Communist state-owned companies : BAIC - SAIC - GAIC - Changan - FAW and Dongfeng. But there are also 3 Privatized car companies that were founded in the last 30 decades : Great Wall - BYD - and Geely. The 3 that are free from the state ownership are the 3 that have developed the most. Stop arguing with your « Volvo funds dictatorships ! » lines. Geely. Is. Private. It is like VAG, it is like JLR, it is like PSA, it is like FCA. They are a private car group like there are lots of them. You’re just pissed off by the idea of something funded by Chinese money being any good; searching a scapegoat to hate on Volvo. Grow up. Your phone, laptop, dishwasher, TV, is made in China. Is it good ? Yes. Volvo has never been in greater shape than before. They sold well, they can finally go all out on their cars like they did when Volvo was owned mostly by Volvo AB.
