Volvo XC60 2010 2011 2012 pollen cabin filter removal replacement

In this video I will be changing the pollen filter on this Volvo XC60 2010 this filter is also known as the particle filter or cabin filter, etc..
It is a bit of a fiddle to change this filter and a bit of a pain in the back side and i fiscally mean that as you need to bend over backwards to get to it..

Thanks, you saved me some time by showing how to remove the fuse panel. Boy, what a pain in the butt! It wasn't my car, thank god. I hope I never get to do another one of these... It took me a few to figure out your car is RHD. Once you flip things around, it's about the same. And still a pain in the butt!!

My God! Volvo makes it complicated. My sister has a Volvo. For my Honda Accord, all I have to do is open the glove compartment, pull out the old filter and slide in the new one. Done!

Yes I don’t know why they made this filter so complex, they are fairly reliable otherwise. Much easier on the Honda for sure.

Wiring is very sensitive. Be careful you don’t pull on or get wiring caught. You may find now your car won’t start or something is no longer working

unfortunately, might have to take the glove box out so you don't damage the filter., bending it, may cause air leaks around the filter.

What you need is patients and don’t worry about time otherwise you give pressure to yourself and everything goes potty 🚽.

Don't get why manufacturers make them such a awkward job, probably so you go to the dealer, the worse one I've personally done is a 2014 citroen c4 grand picasso. Down by the drivers side (RHD) clutch pedal, also there's 2 of them not just one, also c5 aircross is a bit of a pain

How to make things complicated by Volvo. Volvo engineers suck. They think it’s cool to make there cars more complicated. Wrong. You can’t check your oil or transmission fluid with a dip stick it’s now digital. So is your engine temperature so you don’t know the temperature of your engine. My 06 Honda Ridgeline takes five minutes. Pop down the glove compartment door there’s the cover for the cabin filter. Replaced with glove compartment door back on. Get yourself the most reliable cars and trucks. Go Toyota

Most cars have taken this no dipstick approach on anything and yea it’s very annoying not knowing the engine temperature I agree. Many cars don’t have an engine temp gauge. The pollen filter in the Volvo is a nightmare to do. But hey it’s true that a Toyota is a fabulous car.

Toyotas overrated in my opinion. If you choose other brands carefully they can be almost as good. Plus you can't blindly choose Toyotas since they make bad models too.
