Every 200 hours change the drive oil/engine oil. I have one on d4 270. nir even 1400 hours my intermediate bearing just went out

Not sure what the hoopla is. Volvo Penta has had dual prop Aquamatic stern drives for decades. Best I can figure is they are talking about their latest iteration DPI, but they make little mention of DPI per se…how does this differ from previous DPH?

Hi Borys. In 2019, we launched our DPI driveline (single and twin installation), as a completely new offer for the Aquamatic sterndrive range. Now we are expanding the DPI Aquamatic sterndrive to a wider range of vessels by introducing it in triple configuration. With the triple DPI installation, you will still have all the capabilities that the single and twin DPI drives deliver- such as high comfort and maneuverability, as well as reduced maintenance. This new setup will also bring more power for current fleets or larger boats, up to 60 feet, whilst also allowing for increased speed and increased acceleration, still maintaining smooth control. The DPI has hydraulic clutches rather than a mechanical cone clutch. This enables clutches to be slipped for lower in Harbour speed and smooth take off with almost silent operation. The Drive is also developed to work with the latest version of the D4 and D6 engine. It’s a major change.

@@anthonywilson4873 I have one behind my d4 270 on my commercial vessel, I just hit 1100 hours and my intermediate bearing took a dump, started getting tons of vibration had to get towed in. the shifting is butter smoothe no noise the steering is on another level as well and all the sensors inside the boot as well

my dpi was going great on my d4 270 I hit 1100 hours and my intermediate bearing went out . being commercial fisherman just took me out of the game for my best money opener of the season.
