I had the Polestar upgrade on my XC60 D4 MY15 as it was not as responsive as my XC70 D5 MY13 on the open road, particularly when overtaking at the 90 to 110 Km range. From the moment I picked it up I was impressed with the smoothness and a more reactive gear changing. The real test was on the open road in outback NSW Australia. I was not disappointed, quicker overtaking, less time on the wrong side of the road. This equates to much safer travelling. The price is forgotten. The pleasure of driving it is not!

Nice video!! I got my V70 T6 Polestar tuned as well and it became a perfect sleeper car for the Autobahns here in Germany... 250-260 kph hands down :) You should try out the responsiveness in sport mode as well (gear shifter to the right without using the "+" or "-" commands). Very useful for overtaking :D

Few days ago, I got my polestar optimization for my XC 90 T6 inscription 2018. The experiane is impressive. Yes, my interest was for the gearshifting and all wheel drive tunning but I am enjoing the change in the performance as well.

Just picked up a one owner XC70 T6. Your persuasion is compelling. I might have to give this a try knowing it will be Volvo-backed. So far though loving the car. Love the clearance and smoothness of the powerplant. Seats so comfortable. It eats highway miles (and gas). I wish I had the Xenons but other than that no complaints.

volvosweden i drive v40 D4 polestar. Full interior and exterior polestar. Also chassis polestar with motor tuning and remap! One of a kind in Holland and maybe even sweden. Because the factory said, this is the first v40 that has been ordered this way!

I wholeheartedly recommend you to get the polestar software. The car becomes something else. It feels like a new car. We have polestar performance software on XC90 2010 D5 and XC40 (2018-2019 i don't remember the exact date now.). XC90 got the classic badge and XC40 got the new slick badge. We asked the dealer to apply the badges. And since its from Volvo itself your warranty is still solid :)

My wife traded her 2013 S60 T5 AWD (23,450 Miles) in and got a 2018 S60 T5 AWD model {16,000 Miles}. On the test drive she complained the 2018 had less pep and go. I talked the sales man at this local Volvo dealer and told the car was perfect BUT needs Polestar. He agreed and they raised the trade value of the 2013 to cover the cost of Polestar and in one hour we bought this 2018 S60 T5 AWD 16,000 miles with Polestar, and we put the sticker on the back. Feed back is great, Power from 20 to 50 is increased better than the 2103 T5 model. We look forward to 8 years of safe and enjoyable driving as we had with our 2013. We saw this video as one of my data points in reviewing how to get more power, and we are so glad we made the deal. Thank You,Volvo for Wife and AWD with Polestar makes her happy.

I am seriously considering getting a 2013 Platinum edition. The first thing I would want to change is the gauge cluster to that LCD one I'm really glad that you have posted these videos you're obviously very into your car!!! I'm curious if you're from Ukraine? my wife and children are from there. The one I'm interested in is the t6 I would love to hear your opinions on this drivetrain. Sadly,My S 60 2012 can't get polestar because the engine platform take from Ford Focus Turbo. The service my country can't do that even i want upgrade to Premium audio system too. Nice video. Hopefully you can get more subscribe.

When the lease came up on my 2015 XC70 T6 I bought it out and had Polestar installed at that time. Like you, I immediately noticed how much stronger it pulled. Not only from stop but also rolling acceleration. Shifting into Sport mode and I feel like I'm driving a sports car! My mileage didn't change either. I still get about 20-22 mpg. I'm never getting rid of my XC70. Those new Volvo 4-bangers are horrible in comparison.

I was wondering. Do you experience a big difference in ‘S’ mode after the tune? I own a V70 T6 (stock 286 HP) and I feel already such a big difference between the D and S mode. In ‘S’ it’s like a different car!

I have exactly the same experience with my 2008 D5 Geartronic Lux - it is so "sensitive" and the accelerator feels alive - and it goes like stink!

I own a 2008 S40 T-5 R-Design Sport. It’s like a bullet. They have since stopped making the S40 in favour of the new S90, mines in tip top condition, it has high miles for the age, but well maintained. It’ll be with me for life. RIP to the inline 5/6 and V8. I love my 6 turbo. My only gripe with my Polestar is the transmission. The old 6 speed isn’t the greatest match for 350 hp and 370 lbs TQ. It’s way too aggressive, probably the way Polestar tuned it. You just give it slight throttle and the car takes off like crazy

Must try sport mode When in drive your only using like 20% of the polestars capability. It's a completely different car. Did this with my wife's '15 XC70. Only complaint I have is the cars suspension needs to be upgraded as well to handle the power as its lacking confidence. This is after driving a modified S80 V8. Thanks for the moose idea.

This car is a comfortable cruiser with soft suspension. Squats very noticeably when flooring it from a stop, feels similar to an old American land yacht

I did the Polestar on my XC70 2012 D3 (2.4L / 5 cyl.) in 2017 - Perfect ! From 163 to 215 HP makes a difference . Recomended++

Thx for the video and details. How did you wire your spotlights through the firewall of the engine? I have a 2010 XC60 T6 and wanted to fit spot lights like yours but cannot find cable holes etc from the engine firewall to the interior. I know you have a 70 but Volvo firewall is similar. Thanks

Your XC70 T6 is a keeper. I regretted letting go my 2010 V70 2.5T with the Polestar tune for a 2018 V60CC T5 Drive-E (with a Polestar tune too) which hasn’t been very reliable. Volvo’s Drive-E engines lack refinement and character. The old 5, 6 and 8 cylinders gave the car so much more ‘feel’, especially when worked hard. The Drive-E just sounds bad - like an economy car; and the Polestar exhaust makes it even worse. It is one of the bad sounding 4 cylinders.

Hi there! I'm a big fan of your channel! Have you looked into retrofitting the xenon lights in your xc70? I just bought a similar car and I cannot find any info on this. Also would like to know about adding the headlight washers but I see you have them as standard..

To retrofit the Xenon will be expensive. Unless you can find in good used condition. And the headlights washers in my opinion is just a matter of time when it will fail. I dont recommended t retrofit them

I would only change to original Volvo xenon headlights. I would not install xenon bulbs to reflector headlights.

Did it to my D5 185. The tiny power increase is very deceiving, it’s a quicker car than before, 0-100 not So, but round town the power is significantly different, this is how it should’ve been from the factory. Back from the dealer I was smiling the whole time, it’s better than most remaps quality wise I agree you get used to it but if you go back you’ll realise the difference

What happened to your tft cluster retrofit. You didn't like it? I have done remap on my v70. But it's not a standard map like polestar.. My friend owns a garage that specialises in those kind modifications. I would never spend money on polestar but all the best and enjoy

I have a 2013 XC70 D4 (125.000km when upgrade, now 145.000km). I bought polestar optimization, but didnt notice any difference in drive. When i put it in manuel gear shift i can feel small difference. Volvo dealer told me reason why i dont notice much difference is optimization didnt give car much more torque 163 hp / 420 Nm to 215 hp / 440 Nm..?? I thought since it is 32% more hp it would be big difference. I am very disappointed with upgrade. My car use about 0,1-0,15 litre more after upgrade (i had hopes it would go a tiny bit down). I didnt get any badge either, only a paper where they confirm upgrade. If i could, I would want my money back.

Why the 'DSTC ON' message? do you normally drive with reduced traction control on dry roads? I thought this function is to help getting out of deep snow situations by allowing some slip. (Mine is the 2013 XC70 T6)

Actually it's more likely to get out of deep snow with DSTC turned on. I once tried with it off and got stuck, with DSTC ON moved no problem

Love your vids. My XC70 is exactly the same as yours and I too will probably get the Polestar software upgrade based on your opinion. Recently, I had my XC70 in the shop to have some work done and it required removal of the exhaust from the downpipe. The ASE mechanic asked if I wanted to hear what the engine sounded like without the restrictive cats and mufflers. I said yes and I my mind was blown! The T6 turbo engine sounds great with stock exhaust but without it, it goes to a full out race car level. Now, I'm considering installing a 3 or 3.5" exhaust on the car with cats but without mufflers (since I don't need to worry about sound laws in my area). Have you ever considered such a modification yourself? Thanks again and please keep the vids coming!!

My cars are just like my horses, the ones that run the fastest eat the most. Since Polestar trained my XC60 T6’ horses to run faster they now also eat more. I can’t help it that I kick them into a run so much more often.

I just pole start my 2019 S60 R T6 it was $1,500 and some change the car is definitely louder you hear the supercharger a little more. the s60 car uses all rpm it feels better but I would do it again on IG @polletta_
