Hay Scotty I got an odd one. If anyone else can figure it out reply. 2002 trailblazer il6 ext 211,000. When the car is cold and idles more an 5 minutes will sometimes stumble or stall. I changed my fuel regulator and cam solenoid last year because they were leaking also changed the ambient air temp sensor. I don't have a mass airflow sensor. I have a mapp sensor. Do think that could be my problem? Once the car is hot not warm hot! Full optimal temperature it idols perfectly. I still get 16 miles pergallon and drives like a new car. Please help thanks.

Hi Scotty! Had two Honda Civic's before I went to Volvo. Gotta say not as reliable as the Honda's but good cars nonetheless. I'm currently on 174000 miles on my MK1 S60 2.0 T. The 5 cylinder engine still starts like and runs champ but the suspension components need replacing which is a common thing due to the soft bushings.
@randomesteven3935
@randomesteven3935 2 жыл бұрын
The early P2s are always the most problematic. Those P2 post 03/04 are probably a lot better with updated bushing designs. The P1 Volvo's are quite durable as well and relatively easy to work on suspension wise vs the P2. Have an 02 S80 2.0T and an 04 S40 2.4i in my family. Still drives brilliantly, except the S40 needs an alignment hahaha

My first car is a 2011 V70 2,4D. Sturdy, pretty decent power, good gas milage, quiet, extremely comfortable (the seats are more comfortable than some sofas honestly) and the engine can last a very long time as long as you use common sense, take care of it and do the usual service it requires and is cheaper to fix than for example a BMW 5 series or an Audi A4 or A6.

I'd be watching (in the long term) for leaking camshaft seals, rear mainseals if there's any similarity to the 850T5. Also, to-the-firewall-side mounted turbos will be very difficult to access as will most things in this engine bay. It looks like there was quite a leap forward from the 850 in quality. Good, proper and TIMELY maintenance will be an absolute must as it was with the 850 chassis. Some older BMW's are super reliable and simple compared to today's vehicles however this'd beat them hands down on safety issues. A very good, solid car but watch for front end complexity, weight & oil leaks...over time. Maintenance, maintenance, maintenance.

Hey, hey hey! Careful what you say about the looks of the 240! Mine lasted for almost 25 years and nearly had 300,000 miles on it when it just quit one day on the driveway! But when I washed it, it always looked new. The paint last a wile too, even after I brought it to dry heat New Mexico. And it started up everytime, come rain or snow! I replaced it with a 2002 V60 SW, and replaced that one recently with a 2020 XC40 T5. Love this car! So I know the true worth of Volvo’s! ❤️

The P1800 wagon is the only mass produced car that never depreciated right from the showroom floor. If you look at a 2008-16 XCwagon, you will see the design of the rear hatch has inset into it the shape of the glass rear hatch of the 1800's. Most people think they just look good, but it's actually an exact throwback ~

I live in Germany and I drive a 2010 Volvo V70, 2,4l turbo diesel, 163 hp. I can confirn everything Scotty says. These cars are perfect for families, lots of space, super comfy seats, smooth ride and super sturdy - The v70 got rear ended by a Skoda, v70 had a small scratch in the bumper, the Skoda's front simply desintegrated... I has about 250.000 km, I take it to a mechanic once a year for a checkup. It still runns perfecty. I currently took it to Sweden so it can meet some of it's siblings.

Couple of months ago I traded an SUV for one of these, to use for long trips and towing RV/Caravan. Before I'd seen this video. Almost identical except 2012 model D5 with the older analogue dials. First impressions compared to the SUV - faster, rides better, quieter, handles much better and has more space. Also better ground clearance. Interior looks like new - Volvo owners tend to look after their cars. Quite large and not economical or environmentally friendly for local/short drives (in UK cities) - so we run a Nissan Leaf EV as the daily drive. A great vehicle combo.

Have you ever heard about Dacia Logan? Dacia is a Romanian company, cooperatin with Renault. The 1.4l 75hp engine goes up to 700.000km without any major problems. Theyr cost of ownership (revision) is somewhere around 50$/ year. The fuel consumption is around 6.0l / 100km mixed. The engines are boolet proof and can be easily converted to work on LGP instead of gas.
