It's so unfortunate that the songs playing in the background were stripped from the DVD and streaming versions because of licensing issues. The Sound production sounds a bit dull in certain scenes because the song tracks have been muted. Daria would play everything from Sonic Youth to Cardigans, it was pure 90s MTV. A lot of thats lost in these modern versions.

I love when daria and Quinn has their sisters bonding or moments within the show. It really allow us to see how much they truly care for each other while witnessing theirs other characters traits. Quinn for example on the surface is a popular, pretty girl that perceive as self centered at time. But within those moments show her intelligence, well-informed and more sympathetic among her group. On other hand daria see as outcast, unpopular and intelligent but invisible to her peers.Again moments in series show her being popular among her peers. Socialize very well and connect to pretty much anyone on a surface level. It seem like when they with each other the better sides of them come out.

12:53 To all the German students in the comments: The proper translation for a mathematical “set” is actually “Menge”, not “Kategorie”. I'm not sure why the unpaid intern went for the non-literal translation here, but it definitely wasn't because they were an unpaid intern who would never face repercussions in the one-way medium that was 2000s television! Anyway, when Trent tried to explain that a set of T = { 𝑥 ∈ ℝ ∣ −273,15 ≤ 𝑥 < 0 } doesn't include anything below −273,15 °C, I felt that.

The slow realization that Daria even though she has the best witticisms is probably not someone you want to be friends with. She's morose. She's dark. She's critical for no real reason. Jane however has her art. Trent has his music. Quinn has room to grow. Kevin and Brittany are vapid but at least seem like good people. Jodi is scholarly. Hindsight is a hell of a thing.

I like this nuanced portrayal of faith. Quinn is not depicted as a conceited meathead who thinks they're so special that the being that supposedly created the universe gives a damn about them personally (as many atheists see Christians), and Daria isn't portrayed as a malicious nay-sayer who uses the shield of 'realism' to destroy others' happiness out of sadism (as many Christians see atheists). Both girls have their points and both points are respected; it's not a matter of good vs. evil, as religion is often thought of, but of personal beliefs. I feel like this rout is purposely neglected specifically _because_ it can't be warped into an 'us vs. them' mentality, which can then be used as manipulation.
