I have known parents and guardians who actually have done this to my friends before... forcing them out of already safe areas during ice storms and tornado watches because they were "worried" about them and wanted them to come sit at home so they could physically verify their safety. So my friends had to go out into the primary danger and brave it's terrors in order to make it home and become officially "safe" again. My parents were more logical, they always told me that as long as I was safe that I should stay where I was until the danger was over.

Daria goes and gets pizza and skulls. They have all the markers of solidly middle class to upper middle class. The parents both have solid white collar jobs. The whole town is fairly bougie- with Jane’s whole family affording to be artists.
