Imagine if these people kept picking up their trash and not just throw it on the streets. I've been to Africa multiple times and it seems like there is no overall care to fix this problem on a local level.

It still wouldn't solve (1) the problem of plastic production... and (2) people don't think about the environment when they're struggling to put food on the table. It's both an equity and a privilege conversation too.

@@Vonwong I grew up poor. My grandparents taught me that just because you’re poor doesn’t mean you can’t be clean and care for what little you do have. I believe it is a cultural issue..

@@RobertXPhotography There's poor... and then there's poor: www.gapminder.org/dollar-street You also have to think of the history - centuries of colonization and subjugation destroys a culture and its ability to adapt to a rapidly changing capitalist world that only thinks about profit.
