This kid really has Stevie down as close as anybody ever could I think. I can't help to think though that if he wasn't trying to be Stevie, he might be taken a lot more seriously but to each his own. I really like this guy. He's a great guitarist.

Sad that stevie died ,but happy that this guy Tommy is keeping the blues alive and in our faces. Would love to hear more original tunes too, like maybe srv would have created. Like it!

The thing about something like this, while it is very very impressive how much he can sound like Stevie, is that it took many many hours of practicing and memorizing licks that came naturally to Stevie. Seeing Stevie perform live is awesome because he shreds but you can see all his emotions pouring out of his soul, and that’s really a huge part of the experience. So when someone memorizes licks that don’t really come from deep inside them, it’s hard for them to recreate the emotion that made those licks possible in the first place. I think that’s why we hold players like Stevie and Jimi to such high regard. We got a deeper look into their soul that most of the time could only be conveyed through music. They created something nobody else ever thought of before. I respect the hell out of tommy. He’s an amazing player. But everytime I watch him, immediately after I go watch Stevie to see the real deal and be even more amazed by it
@bensblues3 жыл бұрын
agreed. I wish this guy just did his own thing, that way it would be real and i dont doubt he has the ability to play with that real emotion.

I cried when I first saw this it just gave me hope in thinking that maybe listening to this guy would give me one more look on how stevie actually sounded love this music and I will to the day I die. I might not be as good as him even though I've been playing since I was 7 and now im 21 years of age always been passionate about the guitar.

No matter how they try,can't be another Stevie Ray Vaughan..such agenda at mastering the electric guitar and singing his soul out to the fans..a great guitar player and great band..Stevie put all he had into playing guitar and then some..pheno.enal..Stevie Ray Vaughan was exact to the .usic and rhythem and melody was on course every time..never forgotten..still listening in 2022..RIP

He drifted away from Vaughan a bit, but then SRV never played the same way twice so I guess this would be a WIN. Great tone and performance. One of the best, if not the best, at capturing the essence of what SRV brought to the stage.

@Slugg-O3 жыл бұрын
@@monalisaganser5813 Last I heard SRV's battered guitar was on a museum tour but that was tears ago. I don't know where it is now but his brother has ownership of it. Replicas of SRV's battered "No. 1" or "First Wife" as he called it, are available for purchase. Most are very poor copies unsuitable for anything serious. However, there's at least one builder that I've heard of who makes superb copies built to be played hard, but he's not cheap. I'm sure there are others who can build honest recreations but anyone who can nail the relic work and make it a serious guitar will not be cheap. I believe Tommy has a video where he explains how he got that one.
